Mom's overly late midlife crisis car

New guy here. Looking forward to doing a lot of reading and research around here. :)

In a nutshell, mom (73) decided last weekend that she loved the 2010 Black Cherry 370Z convertible she saw at Carmax and you guessed it, she picked it up this past Monday. LOL!

Before my dad passed in 2012 he told mom to go have fun and enjoy life, so she finally opted to do so, and this is her new "toy" to start that process of enjoying life a bit more.

I am tasked to help her take care of it, figure out what all the features etc are and get things programmed, but as you guessed, I'm not complaining since I get to "test drive" it as needed.

Only thing we're having trouble with is getting the darn garage door programmed, it just won't lock in like I hoped. Other than that, she's loving it!

So I'll be lurking and posting as needed so she can have a trouble free ride down the road.

Hi

maybe your garage door is has one of those rolling codes where you have to press something on the unit then run to your car to program it to match

It does and I tried that route numerous times with no luck.

Your dealer did not prep your car when you bought it. They should have disengaged the extended storage switch. It is done by fully pressing in a fuse located on the driver side kick panel. Check this for details. It will also fix you a/c temp setting.

"Extened Storage Switch"

Well, sorry for your loss, and that is awesome! I hope your mom likes the car!

If the car is under warranty, may I recommend getting the extended warranty? The tops are really 50/50 if they're great or have problems down the line

Thats awesome! Hope she enjoys it.
Reminds me when I was remodeling a condo in Sun City AZ the lady next door was 92 and everyday she would hop into her little SLK Mercedes roadster and go to the range and hit a couple buckets of balls and then be home for 3 o'clock "cocktail hours" (yes plural lol).
