Might be getting my 370 this weekend!!!!

First off, the name's Jeff and I dont have a 370 yet but, I've been shopping around for a while now looking for the perfect pearl white Z, I currently have a 90' 300ZX and it's an amazing car to drive but I've been in love with the 370 since it came out, I'm lookin at getting M6 base model, you guys are experienced with the car, what are your thoughts? Anything in particular I should be looking for in that model?

SS_Firehawk 05-21-2013 10:50 PM

As long as it includes the Sport package :P

JeMo44 05-21-2013 10:52 PM

what exactly is included in the sport package besides the synchro rev?

Get one with the sport package.

19in forged aluminum wheels.

4 piston front/2 piston rear breaks

rear trunk lip spoiler

limited slip diff.

Welcome and +1 for the sport package. Worth every penny.

2010ZilverZ 05-22-2013 08:03 AM

Wel-come aboard ... :tiphat:

Like they said ... get the sport package , ya won't be disappointed ;)

fonzo179 05-22-2013 08:30 AM

Welcome to the community! I drive 7AT because I gots no skillz, :icon17: but these guys are on point. I see people buzzing about the sport package Z every day on this forum. Would have been the investment I would have went with.

Mikes350z 05-22-2013 08:38 AM

like all else have said, SPORT PACKAGE. You will want the 19" sport wheels over 18" plus the Akebono brake kit, spoiler and differential. Synchro rev match is fun but I personally never use it.

The manual can be tricky for a new to stick user but after awhile you will get the hang of the clutch. I came from an AT 350z and having a Manual 370 was such a major improvement in driving experience and I daily drive it wearing a suit.

Good Luck!

Welcome and remember to use the search! The others are right about the sport package. Nissan's website lists all the options/combinations.

Are you buying new/used?

It'll cost you the same, if not more to piece together the parts of the sport package later. It's worth saving a little more and getting the sport package.

JeMo44 05-22-2013 05:54 PM

thats exactly what i figured bt then my monthly payments jump up to more than im willing to pay... this is stressing me out

Then wait. Save up enough to put down a larger down payment and get the monthly payments back to a comfortable level. Or shop around and see if there's another dealer that will give you a better deal. Don't buy something that puts you in a hole, and don't spend this kind of money if it's not exactly what you want. Take your time.

JeMo44 05-22-2013 06:01 PM

thats what im debating on doing, but this salesman is feeding me bs telling me its 5k more when its only 3k at most, im planning on tryin out a few more dealers, tryin to get a $350 payment

Chuck33079 05-22-2013 06:03 PM

Negotiate price, not payment. That sales guy is screwing around with you. Email all the dealers in a 500 mile radius and tell them what you're looking for and what you're willing to pay. Get financed locally. Fly out and buy the car.

JeMo44 05-22-2013 06:09 PM

That's what im trying to do, I'm gonna drop a 15k down payment and i feel like they're able to drop the price to where I'm able to pay a comfortable payment for that amount. There's no way we should be able to work a deal out with that much going down.

Somebody will make you the deal you want. Don't be too set on buying locally. Shop around. With that kind of down payment, somebody will play ball. I'd have walked away from the first dealer the moment the salesman inflated the cost of the sport package. Start emailing around. Someone wants your business.

JeMo44 05-22-2013 06:25 PM

Thanks for the advice bro, u think its possible to get a payment at around the amount for that kind of down, i might even be willing to go 17k

Chuck33079 05-22-2013 06:27 PM

I won't speculate on the payment since there are so many factors involved. I will say you should get your financing lined up locally, preferably at a credit union. Then just negotiate purchase price with the dealer and bring them the check from the bank.

JeMo44 05-22-2013 06:36 PM

yea that is very true, and so the search continues. Thanks for all the advice

kfull 05-22-2013 07:22 PM

Yea don't rush. Sport package is def worth it.

stevennoland 05-22-2013 09:39 PM

I bought a base model. Hey, what did I know, I'm a noob I guess. In retrospect, I wish I had gotten a Z with the sprts package. Went to dealer to see if I could add the sprts package. Duh? It only comes that way from the factory. Boy did I feel more like a noob after that. I ended up getting some 19" Nismo rims from a seller in Washington. Thay look great. And I can always add the LSD. If you can afford the sprts package, do so. Good luck with the search. Keep us posted!

I got my 6MT/SP for $36,400 OTD with $17k down and $325mo, not the best price but not the worst...I bought it in April and from what I hear that's not the best time to make a purchase. If you're gonna leave it stock at least get the SP because it handles like it's on rails. However, I will be changing out the LSD soon because the VLSD sucks balls.

JeMo44 05-23-2013 09:25 AM

That sounds like a decent deal to me... I'd b comfortable with somethin like tht... That's the kind of deal I'm tryin to work out, maybe I can get some kind of deal this memorial weekend?

JeMo44 05-26-2013 06:50 PM

The purchase has been made and a white 6spd mt with the sports package was what I got... All I can say is I'm forever in love... It was hard findin a decent deal bt I can stress how pleased I am with my purchase... Thanks for all the help everyone
