Young man + Z= Good times and some bad

Finally i have officially logged in.... after 3 months of lurking on this site/ multiple password resets... So this Z of mine is my first car.. ever from riding my motorcycles all year round(seen to many wet days)... then early last year got one heck of a job with no experienced.. saved for a down payment $4000 for a 350z.. well after months i got a grab on a yellow 350z completely tricked out i had no need to waste a dime on mods.. Check engine light came on next day after i got the car... So in atlanta GA it must pass or you can return it... I returned it.. after months of searching.. i came across a silver 370z touring in FL.. Had it shipped and BAM!:ughdance:

I had it sitting in my driveway after returning from a trip..
So im young but i work my back off till i get what i want, i was taught not to half a$$ anything growing up..

With that being said i will go on to tell you the problems ive had hahaha and im one to get things done as soon as i can so lets start

1. week after i get the car i find out the right front lower control arm bushing is busted.. RENTAL CAR FOR A WEEK

2.clutch started sticking to the floor. got it fixed.......

3. got in my car at the dealership and problem still happening:gtfo2:... got it fixed

4. drove to NC to visit my gf twice in a week noticed at high speeds clutch is sticking AGAIN

5. NISSAN TOLD ME THE CLUTCH LINES WERE BEING HEATED DUE TO BEING CLOSE TO THE CATS I HAVE TO SWAP ALL OF MY CLUTCH LINES, ASSEMBLY, DESIGN TO NEWER STYLE:icon14: (THEY PAID FOR THE PARTS) I HAD TO PAY HALF THE LABOR $450

I SAID ISNT THIS A RECALL OF SOME SORT.. APPARENTLY NO BUT IF IT HAPPENS TO ENOUGH PEOPLE I WILL GET A REFUND:mad:

SOB

6. OH HAHAH 2 WEEKS LATER STEERING LOCK ASSEMBLY FAILED.... THANK GOD FOR WARRANTY ... F THAT DEDUCTIBLE.. 2 MONTHS AFTER I BUY THE CAR

7. STOCK CAT FAILED GOT A NEW ONE FREE(WOW SOMETHING I DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR:ugh2:)

just noticed i was typing in caps i guess i got serious... no not at all but :ugh2:still love my car..
sucks i had to pay for some much bull and drive sedan rentals to class but keeping my head up.. i got more plans..

Im 21 i (with paper and pencil) design cars/motorcycles and have alot of fresh ideas so pretty soon after getting ahold of a spare stock factory front bumper on CList i plan to do some custom fiberglass work to make a custom front bumper..

Ive got alot of ideas for my Z so with college hopefully i have the time/materials to make things happen..
Looking forward to logging in and getting the scoop
:hello:

all of that happened within 2 months of purchase i didnt buy from a Nissan dealership but NISSAN took care of me with every problem..

Today.. i need a clutch.. $500 labor sucks when you want to spend 700+ on a flywheel clutch combo...

CSC failure. Likely had nothing to do with the clutch line. Also, I think this is the first instance where I've heard of the Cats failing on a 370. What year is your Z.

with the lines was that the problem only happened when at high speeds but on daily light to light street driving no problem....

My car is a 2009 right cat failed around 52,000 miles(aka wasnt heating up to the correct temp) i was told hopefully the left one fails within 80,000 miles because its only free before then..

Will It end?

yesterday i brought my car is for a check engine light and some extremely loud noise coming from under the hood at one point....

Sooooo.. today i get a call.. and i hear from Nissan asking if ive messed with the ecu(due to my car being seen at Z1 and Topspeed..) and if ive gotten a tune... well i dont have the money for a tune at the moment.. and i was pretty much getting the serious talk from nissan asking multiple times if ive messed with the ecu.. well i havent..

ECU: random cylinder misfire... car is actually misfiring bad over at Nissan as soon as they started it up... I was told the loud noise was probably due to the (i might be wrong i believe he said) intake valve being stuck open.. Supposedly my ecu is shooting codes left and right

Im getting a new ecu under federal emmisions.. for free but nobody seems to be happy with me..:shakes head:

I just want to get my car back..
screw wanting parts i just want to enjoy the Z i am paying for

You bought used. That's why alot of things are failing. It's not the cars fault most likely. It's the previous owner who beat the hell out of the car. He probably modded it and never tuned it. Also probably abused the clutch and tranny. This is why people need to be careful when buying a used high mileage sports car. Chalk it up to Live and Learn. Hopefully there isn't too much damage beyond what you have already repaired.

The intake timing control timing valve gets stuck open due to old dirty oil. I know mine was stuck open and the car ran like sh*t. I was close to can oil change and drove a bit longer and then BAM the car went into limp mode and a few days later after searching we found it by accident. It's easy to fix, without taking it to Nissan. This will throw a ton of codes but it's as simple as pulling the timing valve and popping it back closed. Problem solved.

And yes it does sound like someone ran the hell out of your car. I hope you bought the extended warranty.

Sounds like to bought somebody else's troubles. So sad. I'd think about trading it in a another Z or another car of some kind. The future could be problematic for you. Hope I'm wrong.
