New 2013 White 370z!

I have been looking into getting a 2013 sport 370z and wanted to know what things I should watch out for. I currently have a 2005 g35 sedan that I am planning on selling. It has been such a great car so I want to stay in the nissan family but want something sportier. Has anyone else gone from a sedan to a coupe and run into any issues besides storage and space? Hope to get the car by next week and start contributing to the forums!

I drove a 4 banger before the Z (atlima sedan). Since I still have the option of driving my altima, I dont feel the space being restricted in my Z. Rarerly do I use the Z to lug around luggage and etc. If I have too it still has some space in the back for me to put some things in.

Might I suggest a g37 coupe? Still sporty and has 2 extra seats. Just a thought but im all for a Z, heck I own one, good luck on your decisions.

From a sedan to a 2 seater coupe... A few things that realllly bugged me;
-Can't carry more than 1 passenger (legally, or comfortably for that matter lol).

-If you have fold down rear seats in your sedan, don't get used to that trunk space

-Get looks everywhere (don't like too much attention, that's just a personal pref..)

-Less than half the visibility you get in a sedan, through the front windshield, shoulder checking, rear windshield, everything

Pros; (disregarding driving feel because of course a Z coupe > most sedans in feel)
-I found it more... driver focused? The small cabin with little storage areas behind the seat, feels more like everything inside the interior is focused around you rather than in a sedan it feels like it's focused around your passengers. Really feels like your little space :)

-Nice and wide seating position (lots of room for legs, arms, etc) but this is compared to my 09 Civic sedan that I came from, and an S2k that I sat in recently (that thing is CRAMPED). This may not apply to everyone, I'm only 5'11ish

-Short! Very easy to fit in parking spots without worrying about sticking your front/rear end out. Though it is wide so tight spots are slightly harder to get in/out of (doors opening)

Oh and if you're coming from a VQ35, you'll miss the engine/exhaust note most likely..

If you buy a coupe you gotta forget the space size, gas x miles, passanger carry.

Will you do mods? If you gonna change the aero kit etc not worth getting a 2013 because of the front bumper leds...

Only for 2 seater coupes, if I had a G coupe or something atleast I can still cram 2-3 people in the back if I really have to. With my Z the most I've done is one person sitting in the passenger seat and one person sitting in the passenger footwell LOL.

I'm sure in due time they'll have a few lips for the new bumper. Might be a while though

Thanks guys for all of the replies! To help you get a better understanding of why I would get a 2013 370z is because I was a member of the ZCON this past year and they gave everyone a special number to get any brand new Nissan at dealer cost so they are way cheap! But it can only be Nissan other wise I would get the g37 coupe for the little extra space.

I agree with you that the sedan felt like I was always making sure everyone else was happy but I also loved that there are almost no blind spots! When I test drove the Z I felt like I was in a little space ship haha. I also noticed the exhaust tone difference right off the bat and thats the first thing I said to the dealer actually so thats funny you mentioned that.

Yes I would probably get a front lip when one comes out. I have seen some pretty cool kits for the older model 370's so hopefully they will keep the trend rolling. And yes I would of course be doing some mods! Thats why we buy sports cars right =)

I also wanted to see if anyone knows of any issues to watch out for like on the old up rev engines those things used to eat oil like crazy. And the transmission issues on the old 03-04 g35s were also a issue. Does the 370z have trending issues?

I havent had any issues at all on my 05 sedan so I don't want to get rid of her. She's been an angel haha

I have read on a couple other web pages that the paint fades? Living in AZ that may be an issue for me even thought I take amazing care of my car.
