Jumping on the bandwagon

Hi all :pics:

I've been lurking as guest for quite some time but I thought I'd join the fun hehe

There is a high chance that I'm gonna get a Z within the next few months but I'm slightly disappointed with the new '13 facelifts. I don't know about you guys but for me with the fangs gone and the new curly sports package rims somehow make the car look somewhat less aggresive compared to the '09. Maybe they'll grow on me eventually. Probably gonna get an aftermarket rims anyway but that's just my opinion :)

So, not trying to make my head big here. First of all, I don't know jack about cars but I've always wanted to get a sports car. I think I've found what I've been looking for. So, any advice for a Z newbie here?

Welcome. You will learn alot by searching these forums. Why dont you get a 2012 if you dont like the new look? As for advice make sure you are ready for a car like this. Very limited space inside, not a bad weather car and a tad rough. I just hate when I see a new thread about someone who wants to get rid of their Z within two months of ownership because it cant handle all the grocery's LOL.

Thanks. Yeah, I admit the amount of resource on Z cars in this forum is astounding! Hence, why I'm getting more inclined each day on getting the car myself as I'm sure I know where to look if I want to get help or something.

I don't mind the space as I have a hand-me-down nissan saloon car for everyday drive, commuting and, of course, groceries lol. So getting the Z is more for weekend drives and thrills.

The fangs are still there, they are just black and a bit thinner. I seen both the new colors up close at ZdayZ. You could just paint them the body color and still have fangs. I kind of like the new wheels and the LED's.

Thats good, having a second car is almost a must with these cars especially if you live somewhere that gets bad weather.

How bad is it when driving in the heavy rain?

It's about the same is any other rear wheel drive car, but not as bad as a truck.

IMO, this car is 100% daily drivable. The Z is known to be a stable car, so I've found its great in the rain - only issue is spinning the backend on tight corners, but if you have VDC on and you don't have a lead foot you should be fine. The other issue is storage space - but like i told another Z owner at a meet...i don't have that much stuff to haul, so the Z has been fine.

The stock tires are mainly the reason for making the Z horrible in the rain and cold conditions. Some aftermarket wheels will drastically improve the cars ability and also road noise. Pilot Sports are just one great set of tires to mention.
