CRAB CAKES AND FOOTBALL! That's what Maryland DOES!
Lol, sorry. Every time I hear Maryland, I think of that scene from the movie Wedding Crasher. Welcome to the Z world (soon). If you do a search, you can see many users have already done FI. If you are buying anything before 2012 and plan on tracking the car... then yea, an oil cooler is recommended. I have a 2011 Nismo that I do not track and I haven't had any heating issues. Anyway, welcome again! |
Welcome! Come on out to our local Saturday morning meets!
Oil heat can be controlled with an oil cooler. 2012+ models get one stock. |

Where are these Maryland 370z meets? Im in West Chester but my parents live on the boarder and I'm down there a lot.
Also, id agree with the above statements, that 2012+ you don't need to worry about heat, and a 09-11 you still don't really need to worry about overheating on the street. I drive mine like bat out of hell on 90 degree days and have had no issues. Yes, there are turbo kits made, but I'm not sure this car is really meant to have a Turbo, with much less expensive mods you get them to ~380HP. If thats not enough then Z1 Motorsports sells a $7000+ Kit. If you love modding then id recommend getting some aftermarket pads which are a bit more heat resistant than the stocks, otherwise these cars are an amazing driving experience, hope you get one. |
Alternates between Fairfax VA and Columbia MD.

Damn thats around 70 miles drive if i left from my parents (The MD one)..hmmmm might be willing to do it if its a decent turnout

If its an auto and you plan on using the paddle-shifters a lot, you'll find the oil cooler to be a necessity rather an accessory.

Welcome and congratulations!
