It's been a long time since I owned a Z

New member and maybe de-re-virginized Z owner?
I used to own a 1979 280zx back in 1998, it was in shiny condition and only 80k miles. The clutch went out and being stupid at the time, I decided to just sell the car rather than fix the clutch... :/

I always wanted a 300zx Turbo but couldn't afford one until they were already getting older and hard to find unmolested. But now I've got my Z car back!

Anyone else feel like the clutch pedal is funky?
Engagement point feels late.
Also feels like there's a lump in the pedal throw.

Absolutely love the car!

:vuvuzela2: Congratulations on your Z.

Yes, the clutch is funky. Made me decide to go 7AT.:shakes head:

congrats angrybits

as for the clutch, i felt the same way and thought i could just get used to it but i never did so i did a modification that you can find on the forum or just go to your trusted mechanic shop. it entails taking out the clutch pedal spring (optionally replacing it with a lighter load spring - i didn't) which will make it slightly more stiff but you'll get more feel, and on top of that set the engagement point lower. i have mine set up as low as possible so i only need to release about 1-1.5" for engagement, instead of the stock crazy high engagement point

edit:
you'll probably notice the drive by wire throttle lag. an intake/exhaust/ecu reset will take care of that

Thanks everyone!

Regarding the clutch... after searching the forum I've discovered the "remove clutch helper spring" mod. Gonna try that and see what happens.
