Thinking Z touring
Hi Z people..
I am thinking of trading my RX8 for a 370z touring. Curious of how the 370 is in the handling department compared to an RX8. I've had my 8 on the track a couple times and it is just fantastic. I am assuming one could change the handling by adding better sway bars or under bracing etc. My 8 has a 6 point underbrace, stiffer springs, thicker/adjustible sways front and back so that help it a great deal. I haven't really gotten to drive a Z yet, just slowly through the parking lot where I work part time (used car place) but the interior is fantastic. Like being in a cockpit. I really liked the closed in feel. |
The 370Z is going to feel like a heavy car in comparison, but there is a lot you can do with the suspension to adjust it to your liking. Regardless, I think the 370 is much quicker not only through the straights but also in corners, but you'll just lose a lot of that "light" feeling.
NOVA as in Northern VA? If so, you can come by our weekly Saturday meets to hang out and check out the cars. Our meetup group: Mid-Atlantic 370Z Owner's Club (Fairfax, VA) - Meetup And our forum thread: http://www.the370z.com/mid-atlantic-...rday-10am.html Some of our members have suspension work done and I'm sure they'd be willing to take you for a ride. |
If it helps any I am also looking at an AT.
I know there will be much flak over that but honestly, I kinda like just pushing the pedal. Are the paddles pretty responsive when you use them? The paddle shift in my 8 is pretty good in the response department. It's a huge toss up between the Z or fixing up my beloved 87 MR2. Also sad is one of the other reason I am thinking Z is it gets better MPG than the 8. Now if the Zs only came in T-tops or Targas I'd be even more happy with the decision. And NOVA does mean Northern VA |
