I am a newbie as well (2nd Z however), the Stillen G3 intake and dual exhaust alone will add roughly 40 RWHP to a stock 370Z. And depending on where you live will pass smog tests too :-)

southercadesi 02-16-2011 08:31 PM

Will it pass in CA spdonegan?

Intake/CBE won't hurt you for smog tests, if you get either the Long Tube Headers or HFCs/Test Pipes you might pop for a smog test.

Best option for cali folks is to get HFC's and keep your stock cats for when you need to go get smog tested. Swap and test, then swap back once you're good. :stirthepot:

spdonegan 02-17-2011 05:22 AM

Smog test in CA requires visual and pipe test, as of my last check the Stillen G3 and any form of cat replacement will fail the visual (turkeys, if it passes pipe tests they shouldn't freaking care). The G3 does have 'CARB pending' on it which means Stillen, God bless them, are paying the ridiculous amounts of $ to get it approved. Aftermarket cats/test pipes definitely will NOT pass the CA smog nazi's

This is why you keep your stockers, and right before you go test, you swap the stockers back in, and get tested. Then once you pass, swap them back out.

Congrats on your new car and welcome to the forums! You'll have to post a review on the Wilwood brakes. Did you go with the Sport package? That's too bad about the deal that the dealer keeps your OEM brakes. You could resell the Akebonos to the Z, G and FX community. BTW, what colour did you choose?

It's possible. I lived in Borden for a year in 2005/6, another 8 months in 2004. I am on course there now and again. What side of Barrie were you on? Looks like you were near the Mall! But then again all houses are brick in Barrie...:icon17:

jazz 02-19-2011 11:41 AM

molson park side. and in and around downtown a lot..lol

the wilwood bbk is red with the slotted and drilled rotors, as for the car i went with the Blue, black top and seats in auto. no sport pack as i was doing the Wheels and brakes b4 i even get it! also have no need for the navi.
