I made a mistake.

Yesterday I "joined" this forum. I did so because I am thinking that a 370Z might be the car that I want to try next and because I have an equally desirable car that someone here might like to trade for.

I found no "trade" sub-forum and decided to post an exploratory note in the "for sale" section. Wow! That was a mistake, as witnessed by the responses! I have participated in several forums and prior to this not found one with such a restrictive policy. I know. I know. Another mistake on my part was to assume the rules here were essentially the same. I guess that I will go elsewhere to gauge interest in trading a 370Z Touring coupe for a nicely accessorized red 2008 Mercedes Benz SLK retractable HT with 7-speed automatic transmission. In the interest of saving forum band width, I will supply pictures, etc. to anyone who might be interested.

Best wishes to y'all.

Take it elsewhere man, i saw what you posted on your other "thread" very rude to be doing that to someone that asked a simple question. Did you seriously not expect someone to ask for pics when you posted something in the "for sale" section?

frost 10-23-2010 11:37 AM

What are you wearing?

MightyBobo 10-23-2010 11:44 AM

Srsly, what ARE you wearing? Driving a Benz, it's probably some glorious ascot or something. Mmmm...ascots...

Guys. Yesterday I made the mistake of offering to trade my fully loaded Ferrari for a 370z. Once someone asked me for pictures I decided to remove my posting since I felt that was totally unreasonable. I mean seriously, it IS a Ferrari. If you wanted to see what one looks like you could have simply Googled it. Duh. If you really need to know what year, mileage, model, colors, condition it's in you can PM me. My friend in Nigeria will broker the deal.

Cmike2780 10-23-2010 11:55 AM

I hope this guy wasn't serious. People on here are usually pretty open minded and don't tolerate negativity. From following the other thread, it seemed like a reasonable question to ask.

To be fair to ben, everybody does know what they look like because every single one looks the exact same. Plus maybe his girlfriend or mom wanted him to sell it for her and doesn't allow anybody to take pictures of it because it is such an exotic car.

frost 10-23-2010 11:58 AM

I would like to trade my girlfriend for one of your girlfriends.
You would like pics of her?
Obviously I made a mistake. You people are not reasonable.

Such restrictive policy???
I beg your pardon??? You're selling/trading a 30,000 car and too lazy to take 4 pictures? If you go on Ebay to sell it, they charge you listing fee and final value fee. If you use Autotrader, it's close $50+ to list your car! And I'm being unreasonable to let you list for free? Heck, my350z doesn't EVEN let you list anything without being a Premier Member or pay the extra $5/$10 to buy a "selling license". Post pictures of your car, and you can re-list it again, I don't care. But please don't give me that "such restrictive policy" stuff!

I apologize for posting an inquiry that some of you were not able to understand. I hoped to find someone here who knows both cars and was also contemplating a change. It was far to early to get into the nitty gritty and waste band width. After looking at the Auto Trader site and seeing that there are nearly 400 2009 and 2010 370Zs that dealers and individuals are trying to unload, I am beginning to wonder if I even want one. I drove by a Nissan dealership today and counted at least 12 on the front lot.

ThoriumHotdog 10-23-2010 02:46 PM

Cool story bro.

I wasn't aware of a shortage in bandwidth in Texas. If you were worried about the forums bandwidth you could have done what I did and chose to host your pictures on any number of free picture hosting services [flickr, photobucket, tinypic to a name a few].

Hope that helps you in the future. Best of luck.

oh, now he's too good for a 370z. you know, there are these places called 'dealerships' and you can trade your car in there. if you want a Z, get a Z. if you want to sell slk 280, sell it. the ods of someone wanting to sell a 370z for an slk 280 are slim, unless someone aged 30 years over night and grew a vagina.

dude this isn't 1998. you're not wasting that much bandwith by putting up 4 pictures.

1. I you're looking for input from 370Z drivers or other members who switched from MB to 370Z, you need to make a thread in Gen section NOT for sale.

2. Please stop worrying about forum bandwidth. Leave bandwidth stuff to me.

3. I don't have slightest clue what you mean in those lines. So you won't get a 370Z because it's easy to buy? If you're looking into exclusivity, please buy a Lotus Elise and call it a day. Stop looking to buy a mass produced sports coupe.
