Newbie question for a potential Z buyer.
By April of next year I hope to get a sports car that i have desired for like 12 years. Zs and mustangs have been pretty much narrowed down in the choice of cars I want that is within the mortal pay check range. So off with the questions.
1. If I get a Z I do intend to try to go to track. Would I be better off buying a Base Z than getting a Base+SP Z? If I get a base Z this is some of the things I had in mind of getting as my list of upgrades. GTM oil cooler(the $600) - now with this I also see that I need to possibly get a mounting bracket that's $30 bucks. I also see a cheaper one on the website for $400 something, but I don't know if I need less or more. Carbonetics carbon LSD - This is kinda where I don't know much from me getting a SP vs base. From what I read in the forums I have heard people say that this can be a direct replacement for the SP Z VLSD. I wonder though if the stock lines for the SP Z would need to be upgraded to? Is it a significant amount of money or that much harder to add this on a base Z? AP BBK - Now I know these are a pretty penny but after some reading I think I really want to upgrade to these if I had to track a lot. Worth the money in my mind and I don't mind paying for them, hence the reason for saving a bit for the base Z. Also do I need to worry about brake ducting to help cool these breaks down? GTM differential cooler - now I have been reading a bit on this part and I my thinking is if I'm putting the LSD on why not protect the part best I can. If I'm thinking wrong please tell me. With all this stuff it makes me wonder if I should just save up and see of the BOSS 302 Mustang. But since it might go up in price because dealers can mark it up then I might stick with the Z and get the base or base+SP. I know something is flawed in my thinking and I kinda wanted to get your guys opinion on some of my goals or get some criticism. Thanks for reading the WALL OF TEXT and replies in advance. |
