thanx

Check your e-mail.

I agree with docaam... check to see what a local lawyer could do for you. I'm sure they have dealt with international fraud cases and know the best course of action for you to take.

thanx for the email.

i will give him a chance of 2 weeks and if he wont send me anything. i will go to a lawyer.

m4a1mustang 08-22-2010 06:38 AM

Honestly, I wouldn't wait that long. At the very least get into e-mail contact with a lawyer and see if they are able to offer you a bit of advice, just do you can plan ahead.

If legal action is necessary the longer you wait the least likely it is that you'll be able to get your money back.

And I would still demand to see copies of the sale paperwork from the Alabama dealership where the guy originally bought the car.

i called crest cadillac and hummer!! but they refused to give me anything!!

they say the need a legal enforcement, to give me something from their records :shakes head:

Ahmed - the longer you wait, the less chance that you will get one cent back. Get a lawyer. Now! Every day you wait, or do not file a Police Report in the USA, decreases the chance you will get anything back. Good luck!

Chris@FsP 08-22-2010 12:29 PM

So, if you send $30k+ to someone overseas, with no legal contracts, there is a chance you may be scammed?!

The Jewbag™ 08-22-2010 12:59 PM

Get a ******* lawyer already!!!!

jdmlove 08-23-2010 03:12 AM

i found a lawyer in my country, he have partners in the US!

we will raise a claim.

But the weird thing, the guy told me that he sent for me 7500 USD to my bank account and he need time to send the rest!! i will check my bank account soon!

and he still dont know that i know that the car was not stolen!

i have two choices!
1- wait until he send me the full money and i act like i dont now that he's lying!
2-i go to the lawyer and let him deal with it!!

i really dont know why he's doing this! :(

I know this story is sounding more like a scam than anything else.

The law enforcement agency I work for has a website that shows you the calls/crimes on thier web site. The CAD (computer assisted dispatch) program updates it live. Unfortunately the Snellville Dept. must be small and I didn't see any such program on thier site. However I did see this on thier WEBSITE:

Reports
Copies of Incident Reports and Accident Reports may be obtained in-person (or by mail),
Monday through Friday
7:00am to 5:00pm
$5.00 per Incident Report
$5.00 per Accident Report ($15.00 for private property accident reports)
(CASH ONLY)

Maybe you can see if the crime was reported, and if so get a copy of the police report. Also you should be able to call the police department and give them that VIN and ask them if it has been entered as stolen. I know our department will tell you if it's stolen or not. They may not give you personal info about the registered owner and stuff like that but at least you'll know if he's BSing you based on that. Also, if English is not your first language most police call takers have access to language translation services. They need it for 911 calls.

Hope that helps.

i know now that the car was not stolen! he scammed me!

thanx to carfax!

he bought the car for me and he's trying to resell it now in the states!

jdmlove 08-23-2010 04:30 AM

QUESTION!

When an individual want to show his car in a dealer (to sell the car) in the states, the car will be registered by the dealer name or the individual name?

Gunzero 08-23-2010 08:45 AM

I'm sorry about what is happening. It's people like these who makes me want to drop kick them in the face.

docaam 08-31-2010 03:43 PM

If the dealer purchases the car then the dealership owns the title (but the car is not registered). If an individual is using a dealership to help sell the car on consignment then the owning individual still owns the title.

sounds like this dude wanted the car and since he couldnt get a loan to buy a car similar he told you its been stolen so he can pay you for it without involving a bank. Who would do that? who would pay someone 30+ K if they wernt leagally forced!? Because even though its not there fault it was stolen, they feel bad so they will just give you 30k!? It sounds like hes taking advantage that your in another country and he realizes you probably dont have the details to do much and by saying you will eventually get your money back you wont involve the law. HES PLAYING YOU!!!!!!
