2010 370Z Roadster unlock mechanism ?

Was wondering if anyone has had trouble with unlocking their car with the button on the door. After repeated attempts it does not unlock until I dig out the sensor from my purse and unlock it that way. Inside the car to the left of the steering wheel the dial shows me a picture of a key.:(:(It has done this a few times now. It used to always ulock via the door button-I must have done something unknowingly. Any ideas?:icon14:

Check your manual under INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM 3-6 its in the section Pre-driving checks and adjustments.

The automatic lock and unlock functions
can be deactivated or activated independently
of each other. To deactivate or activate
the automatic door lock or unlock system,
perform the following procedure:
1. Close all doors.
2. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
3. Do one of the following within 20 seconds of
performing step 2:
. To change AUTO UNLOCK settings:
push and hold the power door lock
switch to the UNLOCK position for
more than 5 seconds.
. To change AUTO LOCK settings: push
and hold the power door lock switch to
the LOCK position for more than 5
seconds.
4. When activated, the hazard indicator will
flash twice. When deactivated, the hazard
indicator will flash once.
5. The ignition must be placed in the OFF and
ON position again between each setting change.

If you have the Nav you can also adjust it there.

:tiphat: thanks-i tried to zip thru and find it in the manual this morning-but had to quit and roll into work. I dont like sitting in my car in a parking deck and not moving...ya know?
Thanks for your time-appreciate it!

That procedure is for the auto-lock settings which has nothing to do with the problem you are having.

I've found that it is pretty sensitive to proximity. If my key is in a pocket that is too far away from the handle then it won't unlock, I have to turn so that my pocket is closer to the door and then it works. Maybe your key is just getting buried too deep in the purse or your purse isn't close enough to the handle at the time you are pressing the button.
