Looking to buy and want some help!

Hello... I am a 40 something guy from just outside Nashville, TN and looking to buy a new 370z. I just had a Roush 427R Mustang that unfortunately I got into an accident with in December when I hit some ice and overcorrected, but hey, that is another story. What I am looking for is some help from you guys who have already bought a 370z. I know when I bought my Mustang, after I had it home a short while I realized some options I could have done without and others I wish I had opted for when I bought the car, so I was hoping you guys could chime in your thoughts on that!!

Thanks and look forward to hanging out here regularly in the near future!

Mustang FTW! Welcome to the boards, Ronnie. We have quite a few former V8 Mustang owners here!

You can't go wrong with the Touring + Sport package. I personally think the leather, heated seats are a must. Bluetooth is nice as well. If you aren't an audiophile I think you'll be more than pleased with the Bose system. The touring package just gives you those extras that make the car a great daily driver.

The sport package is a must, IMO. If you buy the manual you get the brilliant synchro-rev match system which is worth it's weight in gold. You also get the 19" wheels, big brakes, and the front and rear spoilers. Definitely worth it.

If you go that route all you have to decide is whether or not you want Navi. :tiphat:

Also, if you are torn between 6MT or 7AT... the 6MT is comparable to the TR3650 I had in my GT. Very notchy. It's much slower shifting, however. You could power shift the crap out of the Tremec but you need to be a lot easier with this one. That's not to say it's not a beefy transmission, it just doesn't like super quick shifts.

If you go with the auto, you are buying probably the best automatic in the business short of Porsche's PDK. The 7AT shifts quick and hard and is consistently faster than the 6MT in a straight line.

I know the auto being faster than the manual was a difficult concept for me to grasp coming from the Mustang world!

I'm a former Mustang owner myself (97 Pacific Green and the best car I've ever owned) Like M4 said the sport package is a must, and coming from a Roush you'll miss it if you don't get it. Now the touring package is another story and you could go each way. Personally I had to go with it, I live in the North East and heated seats are awesome. If you are absolutely adverse to leather, heated seats and a halfway decent audio system don't bother with it. But if you like leather, heated seats ect.. or at least think you might like it, go with it. If you like little lights and stuff get the lighted doorsill plates, I wish mine had them. I didn't get Nav, I had it in my Harley Edt. F250 (See a Ford Fanboy trend yet) and barley used it, I couldn't really justify $1500 on something that only looked nice. I have the 7AT and love it. Big deal it doesn't have a clutch like a stick but it performs excellent. If you don't want to keep shifting and just want to cruise go for it, and when you want to sport around, its got paddle shifters and the ratchet shifter type thingy. Another thing is the splash guards which I think are a must as well. I'm sure I'm missing something though. Good luck with the purchase!

If your tracking it - get a base & build up from there.
If you want it just for fun - get a roadster, touring, sport & Nav.

Everything else is in between.

Study the specs/options and then ask about specific things & we can help more.
