Welcome to the forum!:tiphat:

Welcome, very nice impulse buy !
The only bummer is, like the rest of us northern folks, the driving season is almost over.
Also as it gets colder, check and make sure what kinda of tires you're running .... don't want to be running summer tires as temps drop below 40*F

Quicksilvers 10-22-2019 12:17 AM

Welcome to the 370Z forums. Beautiful Roadster Z monterey blue is one of the nicest and unique exterior colors on the 370Z. Definitely run the correct winter tire set up in MN it gets very cold their in the winter season enjoy the snow!

axmea? 10-22-2019 01:23 AM

 Congrats on the impulse buy.

37ozs 10-22-2019 10:03 AM

Thanks for having me! On the subject of winter, I don't be driving it much longer this year. TOO dicey with these cars on the ice n snow even with some blizzaks imo. Besides this salt up here is ridiculous no matter how much you try it never seems to be enough. I will say this though that that Flex Seal to As Seen On TV stuff that stuff really works for coating stuff in the winter from Salt. Stuff's amazing.

Hello from B'ville

Congrats on the Z purchase and love seeing a fellow 'sota Z lover on this site. :hello:
I will be putting my Z into hibernation very soon (dammit!) but next spring I get to drive a "new" car once again.
I'm in Burnsville and find the Minnesota Z owners don't participate much on this site.
You'll find the resources here to be invaluable, not to mention the regular site members to be very knowledgeable and helpful, but do attempt some site research first, should you have questions.

Hope to meet up with you in the not to distant future.

Congratulations and welcome, Eric. :tiphat:

Welcome! Just two things you should know off the bat.

2009 was a problem for steering lock failure and excessive oil consumption. There are plenty of threads here addressing both if you should have a problem.

One is an easy fix, the other, not so much! Hopefully you won’t have issues with either.

Was it temptation... or was it love at first drive? ;)

crraziee370 12-29-2019 07:08 PM

Sup!?! I’m from MN as well. No Z for me til spring time...

TBH it was live at first site. The Monterey Blue Pearl is eye candy to be modest. The drive and sound of that VQ are what sold me. But that color tho... ugh amazing.

Id have to agree this time around. Got it for a stupid low price too. Almost too good to be true.

No worries on the tire situation I don't drive the Z when it's 40 degrees. i actually just got it out the other day. Ahhh i missed that high revving VQ scream. :excited:

Thanks for the heads up. I have heard of the steering lock issues. and experienced the oil consumption is kinda crazy.

Yes there aren't many Z owners up here. I actually only personally seen another 370 once since I got mine and u travel 100 miles a day for work. That being said, are there events that Z owners (or cars in general) that have meets thru out the summer? I remember seeing that FB has get together amongst group members but never really looked into it?

Rusty 04-01-2020 11:10 AM

Since ZDayZ has been cancelled. Bunch of us are trying to do a meet sometime in the summer. Might be in Michigan at madwi place.

JARblue 04-01-2020 07:56 PM

I definitely think he should host it. I'll drive up and bring a bunch of parts to install :rofl2:

Keeping in mind the shelter in place rules, it's doubtful most shows/meets will be taking place for a while:
A couple that come to mind ...
- Mncandc.com is usually good for a visit 1x/summer and is held at Mystic Lake Casino.

- Saturday nights 2x/month Hastings Cruise-in.

If you've never been, take a drive along the bluffs of the Mississippi/Wisconsin side from Hastings/Prescott to Pepin. The views across the river are amazing and there are a few good spots to stop/stretch/eat and have a pop, beer, wine. But, while the drive along Wisc 35 is quite beautiful, turning off Wisc 35 and trying to get lost in the farm country away from the river, on top of the bluffs, can be a good time:driving:too. (Do be mindful of the locals and farm equipment on some roads at times!)

Cheers!

WI 35 and the attendant farm roads are a slice of heaven.

Too far for me but I'd love to go to a Z meet closer to me in the Mid-Atlantic (I live in Southern Maryland/College Park). What sucks is I was planning on going to my first ZDayZ this year

I've been searching the forum for the oil consumption issue and can't seem to find anything? Mine uses a boat load after about 3k on an oil change.
