Hello!

Hello everyone!

I attempted to join the forum back in January but just now got accepted!

My name is Luke, I am a proud owner of an 09 -100k miles, pearl white Z (well used to be). Loved the Z so much I went and got a nice Z tattooed haha.

Looking forward to being here, already skimmed the forums and found many useful things to check.

So I saw my Z on a hypercars site, and drove over 500 miles to get it the next day... 6 hours into my 10 hour trip home, a 150lb deer plowed into the front driver side of my beautiful Z. Sigh.

Bent / messed up the bumper, hood, headlight, driver side fender, and put a giant dent in the driver door too. Of course it blew the air bags, locked the seat belts...

So there I sat in my brand new (to me) Z, in a cloud of smoke... And let me tell you I DID shed a tear. Lol...

I have wanted a Z since I rode in an old suped up Datsun 240 as a kid.

300 miles from home too, it was my plan to pick up my soon to be Fiance in our new Z, drive her to New Orleans where I planned to propose.. Sigh.

I did take her and propose anyways ( trying to hide my discomfort all weekend ) haha..

Anyways, I have been slowly putting her back together. She will be all Matte Black soon with carbon fiber hood, the vinyl arrives this Thursday, the tent and tools arrived yesterday.

My biggest hurdle has been finding a headlight. I managed to get a used one for $350, which of course has ZERO mounting areas, so had to make new ones, and right in the boomerang the shell is busted. If anyone knows where I can buy a new shell that would be amazing. $1,200 for a new headlight is completely ABSURD is it not? What in the hell... lol...

Will upload some pictures after they finish compressing.

Congrats on the purchase, welcome to the forum and I'm really sorry about the accident.

If you already haven't, check eBay for the light and any other basic replacement parts.

Welcome. Remember cars are replaceable, you are not! Happy to read all is ok now. Keep checking the for sale section as used headlights do pop up often. Cheers.
