My new puppy has been ordered!
Hi folks,
When I was a little girl, I fell in love with the 280z (I didn’t know about to 240). I have never had a particular passion for cars except for this one. My black 370 complete with sport and navigation pack has been ordered with delivery due for mid March. As I live in Montreal I figured I would at least spare it one horrendous winter! So from now until then all I will have is this site to keep me drooling! I have read all of your posts regarding the Z in the snow but when you live in Canada, restricting yourself because of the snow is like someone from California who restricts himself because of the sun. It’s just a way of life! Besides, it also barely has a trunk and has no back seat. Only a surf board would have been less practical! So I said “SO WHAT!!” and threw caution to the wind. Come March, the practical Saab goes away and the dreamy impractical Z takes over. I’ll just have to make sure I do a big grocery run before getting rid of the Saab as I will never be able to fit anything but my purse in the new car!! Lyne |
Congratulations on the order!
The hatch actually hauls quite a bit of groceries so not so impractical a car. As far as snow.....order up second set of wheels and fit with good snow tires. Quite a few people here run a winter set and do pretty good. |
Thanks Nikon.
Actually snow tires are the law here so I will definitely be investing! |
Congrats Lyne and good luck on waiting for your baby, it must be hard.
Joyeux Noel et bonne annee. |

:santasleigh2: :worship: |
Congrats and Welcome! don't forget to post some pics
|
congrats on the 370z! i just got mine today and came back from a 10 hour road trip... :D
|
Congrats. You'll love the Z even more you got it. BTW I love Montreal.
|
Congrats Lynn, i actually spent $200US on groceries yesterday and it all fit without problems, the hatch has more room than you think!
|
Excellent decision! The puppy will be well worth the wait. And yes you'd be more surprised what you can fit in a Z than what you can't. Ooh, and don't forget the passenger seat... and floor. And little shelfs behind the seats. Hey, it adds up! Fer serious
Congrats |
A FEMALE?!
Just kidding. You should go to DC or any of the other cities around here that have no idea how to drive in snow, its a comedy and a half. After seeing that video of the Maserati with some GOOD snow tires, Im sure the Z could handle it just fine. |
congrats and welcome aboard!!!!

Hi Mightybobo,
Not a female, a woman ;-) I do understand the reaction though. Most of my female friends stare blankly when I tell them about the new purchase. They do however ooh and ahh when I show them a picture. It definitely is pretty and it goes well with my Prada frames! The men I know however are not much better at fueling my excitement. They just swallow hard and nervously proceed to explain to me how their minivan makes sense. That only leaves me with only teenage boys who understand my excitement!! *lol* |

Ironically I know a few women who like my 370, but Im not sure if any of them would buck up and get one for themselves...one of them just bought a new Mazda3, and I think thats the limit to her driving excitement she can handle... |
my gf has a g35 coupe and trust me, the Z is the grocery getter. we spent like 250$ at the store then another 150$ on meet and produce at a market and it all fit just fine.
the cargo net is nice for smaller loads, but i usually just put them in the passenger floorboard (if i'm flyin solo) grats on the purchase! welcome to the nut house! :hello: |
Thanks Vipor,
That doesn’t sound too bad. I didn’t get a great look at the trunk because it was before the test drive and I was concentrated on getting behind the wheel. I was just struck when the dealer, pointing at the trunk said "it comes with instructions on how to fit your golf clubs in"!! |
Bahahaha...*sigh*. This is what its come to - people taking the car to the golf course and back home to its garage to sleep in. Sad.

MightyBobo,
Don’t be sad. I think he just said that because he really didn’t know what “pitch” to give a woman. He didn’t know how to alter his usual spiel about what a chick magnet the car is. He had no idea that I don’t play golf and just 3 days earlier had gotten a $300 speeding ticket because I was caught by one of those aerial patrols. Did you know those things actually exist?? I didn’t!! I thought the signs indicating that this part of the highway was monitored by aerial police were just there to scare people!! So have no fear, this particular Z will not be doing much sleeping. |
aerial patrol?! :icon14::eek::eek2::ugh:

Vipor,
Maybe it’s just a Canadian thing. I know how touchy you Americans are about your privacy *lol* It was very strange. I saw the patrol car merging onto the highway in front of me so I immediately slowed down. As soon as he was on the highway he pulled up behind me and turned on his lights which I found curious because there is no way he could have seen me speeding. When he approached my car he told me that I had been “clocked” by the plane at 141 klm. When he had filled out the paperwork and handed me the ticket he said that he couldn’t reduce the price because I had been caught by the camera. I would have protested because really, where are these cameras!!? But I knew that I had been going even faster at certain points of the highway so I figured they must really be there somewhere!! |
I've seen signs eluding to helicopter patrols in areas, I've just never heard of anyone getting a ticket from one. Sucks. :shakes head:

Or just don't speed so much, rebel! |
If they had those kind of patrols down here in texas, id be in jail.
