Howdy, Thanks and Impressions

Been stealthy looking at this forum for quite a while since I bought my 2016 z in April this year and it's awesome finding info here so I figured I would say hello to fellow enthusiasts. Great forum and thanks for sharing!

Overall impressions if you are interested since I got her (nit picky to hellz yes):

Road noise and more road noise, oh yeah I forgot about road noise :) I'm thinking that the lack of the back seat/trunk exposes more of everything for noise. No biggie, just turn up the stereo.

Seats are cheeeappp. Come on Nissan! Not sure if it's just my seats but if I push my head on the head restraint, I can feel something pushing on the back of my lower neck...weird.

The window roll down when you open the door is kind of cool but for some reason when I open it, it's not fast enough so it feels like the door is going to fall off for a split second, like the hinge is broken. I wish you could wait/pull lever, window does its thing, and then open. Nit picky I know!

Visibility: This thing feels gigantic!!! When I park back up/etc. it feels like I'm going to crush whatever is next to me but if I see my reflection in a store front window/etc., I'm like 50 feet from the object of concern. It's kind of like that scene from Austin Powers. Don't know if this is just me.

Looks: The best looking attainable (new) sports car hands down and it's not a Mustang. I like Mustangs/Camaros/Challengers but everyone else does too! I enjoy driving and not seeing a Z every 2 blocks. The side profile is a thing of beauty! Hail the 240.

Cornering: She really hooks around corners, OMG.

Interior: Many reviews say it's long in the tooth, needs a refresh etc., but I love the interior and how its basic and feels like a cockpit but that comes at a price of visibility. It's totally analog which makes it special. Newer cars are going for the in my opinion, flat dash/family truckster straight across feel. I also feel that Nissan is doing good for a long run design. Think of an F-16, those have been around since the 70's but they still look modern. Quit changing things every year!!!

Transmission: Love/hate. I got the automatic due to a decent deal on the car. I'm a manual guy by trade but when I hurt my ankle once and could not drive for a week, I said my next daily driver would be an automatic. I just found out you can downshift from the paddles alone, which is pretty cool for engine braking. My favorite part of this transmission is that it slows you down. Most automatics I've driven just keep going, this one when you let off sort of feels like a manual. I'm not going to lie...I miss the connection between me and the car but it's nice to drink a slurpee whilst in traffic. The trade offs we make!

Overall, she's a beautiful car and I hope to keep her through thick and thin. We are getting married next week at the Chapel of Flowers in Vegas btw.

Hi everyone.

Glad your enjoying it. Don't discount the Auto it's pretty good, though I do recommend installing a cooler for it.
