Adding this one to my short list. It's a few grand more than I'd like to spend, but it's very clean and only has 11k on the clock.

I keep running into road blocks. I thought I found "the" Z but it has the Bose system in it (no nav). I am definitely installing a system. I have my eye on a Kenwood head, a 10" sub of sorts.
I really wanted to go with the Polk Audio db651s in the doors, but from what I'm seeing, the Bose system limits you to 5.25". Also, Crutchfield only offers component sets. To the best of my knowledge, the Z doesn't have tweeter locations up from. What to do... what to do... |
I just found this.
http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/4...bout-bose.html So there are tweeter locations in the dash? I'm guessing with the component set Crutchfield says works with the Bose system, I could mount the tweeter in that stock location. I'm also assuming the Bose amp handles the crossover points. This might be ok. |
What I know about audio, you could fit in a thimble, but bigaudiofanat and RonRizz are the go-to folks around here for that stuff.
BTW, you received my last response to your PM? |
I'll pm you back to verify.

If you want a killer system, why keep any of the Bose stuff at all?. My 2013 is Bose without Nav. When and if it comes down to it I'll replace the whole shooting match, head unit, speakers, sub and amp. No real issue doing it with the non-Nav Bose system as I understand it, but everything I know about car audio fits in a single wart on my ***. There are real audio experts on this site. Search this site to death before going and buying anything and educate yourself fully beforehand. Look at any and all Zs that come up to get the hang of it. Once you're ready, go looking seriously and when the right car comes up at the right price you'll know it. I didn't know near enough when I bought. Time spent here will serve you well, my son. Oh....and Welcome to the site. 104 |
This site is teaching me much; still much to learn about the car in general.
Now, car audio in general is a different story. I use to compete Pro IASCA and I have a degree in broadcast engineering, so I know my way around a speaker and amp. ;) I know Bose likes to use funky impedances and such. My best bet is going to be just getting one and digging into it. Just so long as I know I can still fit a 6.5" in the door of a Bose Z, I'll be fine. My concern was everything in Crutchfield's "it fits" list is 5.25" component sets. |

I seem to recall reading you can fit a pretty decent speaker in the stock opening. One of the experts is sure to chime in here soon. How about posting up something in the Audio section where they 'live'? 104 |

Looking at this.
2012 Used Nissan 370Z2dr Coupe Automatic for Sale in Charlotte, NC - gun metallic - JN1AZ4EH4CM562418 on Hendrickcars.com I saw the rear spoiler and the wheels, but I don't believe this is a sport model. :( It is a pretty ride though. |

Did you buy it?

Not yet. I'm still debating on that interior color.

Aw, step out there and live a little!

I think it looks good, for whatever it's worth.

It's very European.

So, this being a touring model, what does that offer over the base?
|
This is the only damage the lot is reporting. That curb rash is not making me feel all warm inside.

Use the curb rash to get the price down. I bitched about the rash on mine when I bought it (base wheels, mind you), and they ended up taking about $500 off. Should be more with sport wheels.
You can have the wheels fixed for about $100 each. That's what I was quoted for mine by several different shops locally. Or, you can do it yourself. I found this video pretty helpful - . Or, just buy some new ones and really make the Z your own. |
Yeah. I was looking at a couple of those videos. I've seen Bondo and that steel putty. Fortunately, I have a mini body shop in my garage and I paint cars, so I have no doubt I can fix em up. +1 on the price reducing. I'm also going in with $5000 and pre-financing. So...If they wanna play ball, we'll play ball.
|
Actually, I'm kinda wondering how well these fixes hold up to tire changes.

The touring model adds heated and cooling leather-appointed power net seats, a 6-CD Bose audio system with 8 speakers (with dual subwoofer) and MP3/WMA playback, XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, HomeLink Universal Transceiver, and aluminium-trimmed pedals. |
Fancy pants.
|
Woot! I just learned from my wife, who can't keep secrets, my father's day gift is going to be the stereo system for the Z. Score.

Oh, and I like HomeLink, too. |
It has cooling seats? ? ?

Stay tuned. Dets coming.
