Well guess who finally picked up his Z!! Me lol
Well since I have been a member here pretty close to the beginning and probably took the longest delivery time 8 months lol. I thought it be strange to make a new owner thread but probably will. I'm in a mandatory military class now and bored. So I had a 350 mile trip back home from picking it up. First impressions now remember I drive on the autobahn since I'm stationed in Germany. Engine temps crept to 220° only once I averaged about 80 mph in 6th gear to not go over the 4k mark. Will take me a little to get use to the clutch. Also not to give it gas on downshifts lol. I have fully loaded w/ nav and persimmon, mag black.
To put it simply I love the car. iPod interface bose system is actually ok for me so I doubt I will upgrade. No ringing noise that I have heard of. Excellent! I have appointment to install clear bra on Friday. Future mods are F.I. Exhaust, G3. Pics today!! Thanks all you here for all the info. Oh and the looks you get are good 2 this morning after formation I had 10 people come to look at it lol. Just one will take better ones soon! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2438/...ae66a593_b.jpg |
Congratulations! What fun you are in store for after your long wait! Looking forward to pics of your new Z.

Nice, man!
You're in the right country for a new sports car. Look forward to legally visiting the 157mph mark on a public road right after break-in! A5 and A67 are good routes for that on sunday mornings, just check out in advance where construction work is currently in progress and avoid that areas. The 370Z will take you to the speed limiter just like that, without any effort. Just make sure you do it on a relatively new pavement with no ruts yet, otherwise your tail will start to swim left and right. Where do you get your clearbra done and what parts and material exactly? You got a weblink of the shop for me? I´m really sad I won´t make it to the first "official" the370z.com meet in Germany on Halloween! |
AK can you move to Owner Forum Added Pics

Asheth,
I'm in the same boat. I'm actually serving a 12-month tour in Iraq, and will redeploy back to Germany this summer. I'm still undecided about my next car. I'm 50/50 between the 2011 BMW M3 and the 2010 370Z. Total price aside, the M3 has incredible savings through the special military sales program ($57k with lots of options, almost $8k less than stateside), while the Z is quite the opposite: $30,800 stateside (base with Sport pkg), $36,800 overseas. I already got the price list from Auto Exchange, and as you probably know, the price difference is due to the fact that we must pay MSRP overseas, plus an extended warranty ($2,700!!,) extra insurance to bring the car to Germany, plus fees and other BS that I'd rather not mention. Anyways, If I decide to get the Z, I'll probably buy it in the states, then ship it (free of cost) to Germany. And that takes me to the final question no one has been able to answer yet, not even Nissan USA: warranty. According to the Auto Exchange representative, the car will void its warranty as soon as it gets to Germany, and an extended warranty must be acquired in order to have the vehicle covered. Is that true? Can anybody here confirm it? Other than that, how do you like your Z? Any oil temp issues driving it in the Autobahn at high speed? Thanks! |
Congrats doooood!

Big congrats man. You have been admiring this car since December 2008. I don't think I could wait this long. The car looks great. You're in the right country for this car, though nurburgring is currently snowed in :(
