New Owner - Charleston SC

Greetings all!

New owner here just saying hi. Never thought I would be writing one of these but here goes!

If any of you have been or happened to come across S2Ki (S2000 International) you may have seen my name before.. or perhaps seen my work, parts or who knows what. I was very involved in the S2000 community.. was community organizer for the Carolinas for several years, moderator for several years, created a few things (Mulderized), hosted events at the Dragon and maybe even traveled to you to replace your soft top. You may even have a event shirt or two i created hanging in your closet or seen them on the ceiling of the Dragon's Den if you were an S owner.

All in all I spent 10 years with the S2000 community and met many great people that I still know today and made many more connections with vendors and the like. I purchased my first in 2003 (2000 Grand Prix White on the left) named "The Angry Panda" and my second in 2009 (2008 Berlina Black CR #77/699 on the right) "The Black Pearl".

After moving to a ... more congested area.. and ten years I felt it was time to change as the CR was becoming difficult to live with in hours of bumper to bumper and went to a 135i M sport.. 6MT, Le Mans Blue and Coral red.. aka the super man combo. Great car but I realized that perhaps I went too far away from the raw feeling of a sports car and was still pumping the clutch in traffic daily. Seven months later.. or two weeks ago today lol... I located a bargain with 15K miles and went for it.. although this time with the 7 AT which I am still getting used to..

2009 Touring + Sport + Navi and finally back in a white sports car (weakness I have). I will no doubt have a million questions and feel like a total noob. I can take an S2000 apart and put it back together all day but this is all new to me so please have patience :).

That said I look forward to getting to know many of the regulars around here and learning all I can. Perhaps even helping others again some day!

p.s.... I have already spotted an old terd I know here (Dark_Sub_Rosa)... what ever he says about me... lies!! all lies!! lol :)

Hi

JohnsZ 02-27-2014 02:12 PM

Welcome to the forum! There's a great bunch of guys/gals on this forum that are extremely knowledgeable about our Zs. If you can't find an answer to your question on this forum, then there is no answer. What I like most about this forum is that most of the members take questions seriously and will do there best to answer them without a sarcastic or juvenile response as I have found on many other forums. Not to say however that you won't get teased a bit from time to time! Consider it all being part of the family. I love your white Z. My next Z will be white and with Nav. Perhaps a Roadster though. By the way, I'm thinking of relocating from the Northeast to SC, Myrtle Beach/Charleston area some day. Anything you can tell me about the area? Again....welcome!

:tiphat:

Thanks everyone!

JohnsZ, you wouldn't be the first! I am originally from the beach area but have since moved south to Charleston. I can tell you anything you want to know. Personally.. I like the Charleston area better. Growing up in the Myrtle Beach area you learn quickly that the iflux of seasonal vacationers and the fact that it is a 7 day vacation spot gets a little tiring. Charleston on the other half is a completely different place... established and voted as America's City and one of the most fashionable cities in the world. But by all means.. ask anything I can tell you about just about any are in SC or how it is living in SC.

Happy to help!

Yessir! Unfortunately Vader II got totaled the weekend before Christmas. I am now rocking Blade, a 2012 Magnetic Black 370Z roadster with sport and navi packages and 7sp AT! I am LOVING the extra horses and torque! :driving:

Welcome to the dark side, brother!

Not again!?!? I went coupe with this one. I do miss to down but I kinda got used to going with out with the CR. Are you still in Savannah? This one is Pax.. I drove through that ice storm for 4 days to Dallas to get it lol. You are like me getting older and going for those creature comforts lol. What made you go 7at? No worried I did the same :)

tonybell_57 02-28-2014 09:36 PM

Yeah, we hydroplaned and played pinball with the guard rails. We did 4 or 5 360 degree turns bouncing off the rails with every turn.

I'm in Atlanta. I got the AT because I have no cartilage in my left knee and 9 years of pushing a clutch have taken their toll. It shifts pretty quickly, so I'm happy.

MULDER 02-28-2014 09:45 PM

Wow tony... You are hell on cars lol. I went 7at too... Spending several hours in traffic in no place to be with a clutch every day. Well... Now we can guilt trip Joe into making is some cool stuff lol. I haven't talked to him in a while I hope he is doing OK. Glad you made it out of that one OK as well.
