Btw. When the mod bug hits I have a nice 40th painted engine cover I can sell you ;)

Hello-

I saw in your other post that you purchased your 40th at a Audi dealer...was it at Audi Tysons Corner in Vienna, VA?

Yep!

Nice! I was looking at that one until I found one closer to home. The salesman I chatted with said the owner traded it in for an R8.

Funny! And yeah, I heard the same R8 story. Must be nice. ;) Frankly I was surprised the car was still there with that condition, mileage, and price...I expected the guy to tell me that someone had just bought it.

It was indeed a great price!

great car with Amazing potential. You are in the right place for good advice how to make your Z into a magic carpet!

My first step is putting some all-seasons on her: at first I figured I'd cross my fingers and try to get through winter with the OEM tires -- I told my boss that I'd probably need to work from home when it snows -- but after two consecutive mornings of driving on boulders I have realized the error of my ways. I've ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1s: they should be in on Friday/Saturday, and I'm hoping to get them installed as soon as they're delivered.

I hate discarding tires when they still have plenty of tread life (I have no garage and zero storage space, so keeping them isn't an option), but more than that I'd hate to not be able to brake in an emergency and/or cause an accident. And I'd really rather not be housebound just because of some snow.

Congrats on the new purchase! I bought my 40th almost a year ago now, and I still get excited just to take her up the road to the store. Keep her clean and keep us posted with your mods.

:tiphat:

Oh man, I hate it when my car is dirty -- any car, but especially this one! Last spring I moved from a place with a garage to a place without one, and now I'm always whining about how dirty my car is. ;) Especially right now, with the snow/ice we just had. I'm hoping to get her vacuumed and washed this weekend.
