First thing you did when you got your 370z

I am (scheduled) to take ownership of my black on black, sport & navi 6 speed 370z next week or the first week of August (yay!). What I'd like to know is ... what is the first thing you did when you got yours? This could be anything from burned through a tank of gas to wash & wax.

As well, I'd like to know if there is a things to check/verify when I go to pick it up, thanks!

theDreamer 07-22-2009 02:21 PM

Check for any dings/dents/etc. (Inside and outside)
Check electrical system
Check tire pressure

First thing I did was drive home and go to sleep, picked mine up Thursday evening. That weekend was giving it a good solid wash and detailing.

GMZ 07-22-2009 02:26 PM

I drove around for about 50 mi, then went home and went to sleep

FuszNissan 07-22-2009 02:36 PM

I put Stillen Gen 3 and Berk HFC's on

Viera 07-22-2009 02:55 PM

Tints & led's.

FirstZin83 07-22-2009 03:14 PM

Wondered if the Speedo was broke. The car is so much fun, those miles add up quick. But I bought mine at a dealer 3 hours from home Blk/Gray 6MT Touring/Sport/Nav, so when I got home it was detail time. Then I pulled up a stool and sat in the garage staring at it for 2 hours.

kannibul 07-22-2009 03:42 PM

Drove around all night. Got home, couldn't sleep...drove it some more.

Mike 07-22-2009 03:49 PM

drove home, put it on jackstands and pulled the calipers, powdercoated them, swapped springs and sways and had the wheels swapped over to the Nismo's that I bought from another member here and powdercoated.

ZCarMan 07-22-2009 07:55 PM

Drove home and put the car cover on it and waited till I got my clearbra installed and windows tinted at the same time.

tooohip 07-22-2009 08:10 PM

Drove like hell for about 175 miles, took pictures, drooled, watched people turn their heads as I passed...

WShade 07-22-2009 08:12 PM

I was so excited that I drove straight home, did several obscene things to my wife, took a nap and then put the first 50 miles on the odometer.

Florida_GATOR 07-22-2009 10:00 PM

brought it home, picked up my girl...drove to the beach..and had some fun on the way there:tup:

RCZ 07-22-2009 11:05 PM

you really cant do that in the z theres zero room.

AK370Z 07-23-2009 12:06 AM

I was DYING to test the SynchroRev Match system. Within 5 minutes of driving, I had the opportunity to do that. When I downshifted from 4th to 3rd, this was my facial expression -->! Well... lets just say, for the next three days, I downshifted EVERYWHERE ! :icon17:

Florida_GATOR 07-23-2009 12:12 AM

Bet it took you forever to get anywhere! :p

gleonard 07-23-2009 12:52 AM

Drove my girlfriend to Malibu and had dinner. (parked next to a new Bently)

tranceformer 07-23-2009 09:20 AM

Drove it home. Took pictures. Drove to friends houses unannounced to show them the new car. Drove around some more.

SiXK 07-23-2009 12:02 PM

First thing I did was put a "LSU" tag frame (black with yellow "L-S-U") on the back.

Florida_GATOR 07-23-2009 02:33 PM

God! I bet that looked hideous! :icon18: :bowrofl: jk bro

My girlfriend and I drove around the city, added about 50 miles.. (it was 11pm before we were able to drive the car from the dealer). After that we went home to bed! I somehow managed to sleep, woke up and felt like a kid on Christmas and opened the garage, drooled.. jumped in and drove around some more and broke necks of people lookin'. Good stuff.

Driving the daily almost full time now, Z's in the garage sleeping with about 5500 miles on the clock and it gets driven on my off days from work on short trips only for now.

Don't drive it that much now? Just the weekend ride now huh? I think I remember you saying you were getting a dd. I'm flying down to Jacksonville in October for a cruise, think you could shuttle me to the port in the Z? LOL

Well, as soon as I got home from the dealer:

Drove around a bit and played with the features, especially synchro-rev match, the voice control on the Navi, the XM radio, and control settings.
Went over to a friend's house to show off the car.
Drove more.
Went over to another friends' house to show off the car.
Drove even more.
Went out to dinner to celebrate.
Drove more.
Came home, stared at the Z for an hour or so.
Finally collapsed from exhaustion.

The whole time I should note that I didn't stop smiling. Even at dinner I was thinking of the Z and zoning out on the conversation.

Mhaddy 07-30-2009 12:30 PM

I think Lone Wolf 75's day/evening would most likely be the closest match to what I envision myself doing. Though as the car will likely be ready mid-day, I have to squeeze in "going back to work" in there somewhere :shakes head:

fuct 07-30-2009 01:17 PM

ahh no way, i'll be taking off work for that!

I can almost guarantee that you will be unproductive when you go back to work. I ended up going to the dealer last Thursday, discussing the price that night, and walking out to "sleep on it." Also, the car was not at their dealer, it was 20 miles away, they were not able to get the car until Fri afternoon, and I wasn't doing anything until the next day. Needless to say, the 1/2 day I put in on Friday morning was one of my least productive days ever. I can only imagine what it will be like once you take delivery of the car and know that you cannot drive it for hours.

Thats nothing bro, I remember eatting at home and I made sure I was angeled perfectly so that I can see my z while eatting from the window. I still do that home and when I go out to eat sometimes. I love my baby boo. Always thinking about uuuuuu. :yum:
