Recently Purchased 09 370Z
Hi everyone, I purchased a 09 PW Base M6 about two months ago, and wanted to introduce myself. My two previous rides are a 2000 Honda Civic EX, and a 1988 Mazda RX-7 GTU. I had to get rid of the RX-7 before going off to college in 02, as the 13 year old rotary wasn't exactly the most reliable. The Civic got me through college...all 8 years haha...but I finally decided it was time for some real fun. Planning many mods, just have to get up the courage for many of the DIY's...I had no reservations about tearing the Civic apart, but I'm a little hesitant with the Z. Anyone out there with a 370 in Athens, GA?

Thanks Blackcherry, my 00 Civic was White, so I am a little partial to the color. One of my roomates said it looks / seems a little bit like I drove the Civic into some sort of "Upgrade" machine, pushed a button, and the PW Z came out haha. If only it were that easy...

Welcome congrats man! I live in Clemson. I go to commerce frequently to shop with the girl lol. Enjoy that 370!
|
 I love a white Z
|
The Commerce Outlets are only 20 mins from my house right now, as I live off of 441N. I'm out that way quite frequently myself, and I have definitely been enjoying it since I bought it...only thing is I work from home so I don't really have anywhere that I "have" to drive it every day. Mileage should stay low on it though, it's an '09 and hasn't broken 27,000 miles yet...Thanks Zoren 370, me too!

White rocks you never see the dust  As for the bone stock look its nothing that throwing money at won't solve. Enjoy the car!:driving:

Thanks guys! I paid right at $22,400, but I gave them the 00 Civic too...which they gave me 2k for...so around $24,400. The previous dealership that I had priced one at told me the most they could give me for the Civic was $200...granted it was a little ricey, but mostly clean I thought...lowered properly w/ camber kit and rear shims, wheels, HID's, front and rear strut tower braces, painted side skirts, clean sound system, standard loud muffler, but $200? Anyway, I ended up getting the Z from a BMW Dealership in the Atlanta area, not the one that offered me $200. Maybe it's just me, what do you guys think, worth more than $200?
http://i.imgur.com/ChdiCl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dkcN6l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0t9Cpl.jpg I am somewhat of a purist when it comes to driving (manual only for me), but have been kicking myself lately for not waiting for a sport model to turn up, only because I'm lacking SynchroRev Match (I plan to add my own wheels later, and possibly a non-viscous LSD if it's possible, haven't looked into it too much at this point)...my original thinking was that I liked heel-toeing to downshift, and didn't need SynchroRev Match...I wish someone would have been with me just to remind me, hey, if you want to downshift on your own, just turn SynchroRev match off...sometimes I can be an idiot...so I feel I may blown it there...I guess I was just really anxious to get out of the 00 Ex Civic (Been driving since '01) and into something with some real power. Blackcherry, I feel the exact same way every time I look out in the driveway... |
btw, the Civic had been wrecked more times than I can count, the engine in it was non-original (D16Y8 from a junkyard, paid $750 for it) swapped out by me and a buddy, and was loosing about a qt of oil every 2 weeks. The passenger door handle had broken off earlier that Winter, along with the hood latch that was also broken (inside the cab)...The engine probably had somewhere around 80k on it when I got rid of it...if the guys at the junkyard were honest about the mileage on the engine when I bought it...who knows...The car had about 170K on it, so I feel like I did decent on the trade in...considering this was a 12 year old Civic, with a sticker price of $15,500 new...

2k sounds fair-def worth more than 200 tho-its a honda-right?!
Not sure what the synchrorev gains you, a little less dead drop at downshift but if you are accustomed to driving MT (especially for a long time) you know how to prevent / avoid that...the synchrorev actually startled me me when i test drove the car- wondered what i had done to create the revs! Lol...still not thrilled w it but getting usde to the extra noise-and stares it garners. |
Thanks, that makes me feel a little better...as both of my previous cars have had manual transmissions, I am very used to giving the throttle a blip to downshift. I am also currently missing the little tiny gear indicator...:( Never thought about how it would sound though, it would probably startle me too, like whoa accidentally hit the gas, wait, nevermind. Should have heard me trying to explain what Synchro Rev Match meant to my girlfriend...

You guys think I did ok on the price of the car? I know it's Base only, so that's why I'm asking. First time at dealership by myself experience, I really hadn't shopped around too much. Priced at new one at the local dealership, then started my search for an 09. The very first guy I talked to in person where I priced the car told me they were first available as a 2010 model...I asked to speak to someone else...Next day went to another dealership, had checked prices on Autotrader and value on KBB. I think they were originally asking close to 28 for the car, but since I found it online I got a $1000 discount, and then $2k trade in... The only one I was able to find cheaper was one with a rebuilt title selling for around 18k. I was shooting for $25k, so I was pretty close, and for this car I feel like it's a steal...:driving:
