370z Mystery....Embarrasing yet Concerning

Okay....so we went on a mini vaca from Thursday to Sunday and took our other car. Left the Z in the garage.

So on Sunday, I go to use my Z. Hit the Power button...nothin... make sure I'm hitting the brake with key in hand....nothin. Z has no power at all. So we try to jump it....nothing...

End up calling the Towing Company...he tries to charge it...little sparks..but nothing. End up towing it to the Nissan Dealer which is already closed.

Next day... I go to the dealer service department. They tell me there's no gas in my Z and that's why it wouldn't start. I say, huh? How is that possible considering I used it the last day I left it and it had gas.

So we all speculate that somehow I must've left my car running the entire time we were gone and the whole time it was running in the garage!!

So today....then I look at all the car products sitting on a shelf next to my car....all containers were melted, mangled, in crazy shapes. So apparently it's true. I left my z running while on vaca. Garage closed. Yes I'm thankful I don't have monoxide poisoning....

I have no idea how that happened. I mean I get that the key doesn't have to be near the car once its started but seriously? I just can't believe that that happened! Now I'm freaked that I have to check my car before going to bed but considering how loud the engine is...I'm still dumbfounded.

1) Your shelf got hot enough to melt plastic just from being beside your car? You're lucky there were no flammable fluids or the shelf didn't catch on fire

2) Don't your seats and interior smell like dirty gasoline/smoke/burnt plastic? Gross.

3) If you walk away from the car with your keys it beeps pretty noticeably. Listen for it!

Least your house didn't burn down and your Z didn't take any permanent damage. You lucked out!

So yes. All good points ....but oddly enough... No. Car didn't smell any different at all making this an even bigger mystery.

And you're right..the car does beep but nope no beeps I can recall.

And finally..yes I said a bunch of prayers today. Thankful.

Better your garage than a public street, it would be gone!

Yeah and after the car turns off, they can't turn it back on.

WOW....... EPIC FAIL. This is the first that I have heard this. I am speechless. You are very very lucky that your garage, or house didn't blow the F up. I would have to assume your wife was PO when you told her. If you haven't yet, then I would highly recommend not telly her.

Wowzers

I have no idea how you could have done this
