Got my 370z!

Hi all,

Just got a 370z 40th anni (used) and I am loving it! (except for the ECU noise...)

I'm planning to mod my Z (slightly) but I am pretty much clueless on what to get and where to start. Hope someone in the 604 can teach me a thing or two!

Thanks!

Welcome and congrats. For me a good place to start is wheels and springs/ coilovers. To me this separates you from most. Also gives character. But if you for more of performance side then an intake and exhaust would be a good start. Plus depending on a budget makes a world of difference.

ECU noise? In a 2010 Canadian model? Unheard of! It was only the 2009 model that had the bad ECU's, or so I thought...
Is this an American model?

Congrats! I picked up a used 40th also couple weeks ago

ECU noise? Thats odd, wasn't aware of it.

The wheel gap is killing me so springs next and I already ordered an exhaust. YOu got great roads in Vancouver to drive on, jealous

Thanks guys.

It is a Canadian model.
I believe it is the ECU noise. There is this very high pitch "electrical" noise whenever I idle the car. It seems like it is coming from the back, like the trunk of the car... I am not too sure what it is.

It is been pouring rain in Vancouver for the past few weeks so I haven't really got a chance to take some pictures, but I will post them up asap!

Also, do you guys find it quite hard to upshift smoothly?

Whenever I upshift, say from 1st to 2nd, as soon as I depress the clutch the rpm goes up very slightly, then very SLOWLY drops down. Therefore I will have change gears very slowly as well. I have driven a lot of 6speeds but I never had to change gear this slowly to make it smooth. Any tips?

That is most likely the fuel pump you hear. Turn the radio on and it disappears...:p

congrats!

Fuel pump? I only hear the noise when it is idling...so idk.

Since this thread is worthless without pics =p , here are some! (taken with my phone)

As you can see there is nothing special here as the car is completely stock.

Congrats! Just look around the forum and people's signatures. That'll give you a good idea of what people have already done. Have fun!
