Just bought my second Z! Loving the 370!

I've been a happy Z car owner since 2008 when I purchased my first Nissan Z. She was a bright red '04 350Z Touring Roadster. Loved that car to pieces. Being a car lover I recently went with my sister car shopping as she is in need of a new car. While checking out Dealerships I happen to lay eyes on a beautiful Pearl White 370Z convertible at our local Nissan Dealership. Couple days after seeing it I decided to go back on a Sunday, just to check it out, thinking the dealership would be closed so I wouldn't be hassled. So I'm walking around the car, checking it out, and a salesman comes over. I guess the Dealership was open on a Sunday. He asks me if I want to test drive it. Couldn't hurt, right? So I take it for a spin. LOVE IT! Fit and finish, horsepower, looks... all one up my 350Z. Needless to say I went to just check out the car with no intention of buying it, and before I left the dealership that day I was the owner of a new 2010 370Z Roadster! Talk about an impulse buy. I live in the Vermont and its the dead of winter so I thought I could get a really good deal on the car (since no one is buying convertible sports cars in the winter). I got them down $5,000 below sticker price ($42,450) and got more than KBB value for my 350Z trade (which they really wanted) so I figured why not. Felt like a good deal to me.

I'm happy with my decision and excited to really see what this new baby can do in a couple months when the snow melts. The sad thing is that until then my new car is sitting in a storage garage as our winters are harsh in Vermont and I have a Ford Escape as my year round vehicle. All I can do now is watch Z videos on YouTube until then.

I have one question for you all... the one feature I am disappointed that the car didn't have on it is the Sport Package with the Syncro Rev Matching. The car had a 6 speed manual (which was a must for me) and at the time I wasn't too concerned that it didn't have the Syncro Rev Match, because I figured I can shift well enough and I was thinking it was more of a gimmick. After reading review after review and watching many video reviews of this car it seems the favorite feature they all mention is the Syncro Rev Matching! For you guys that have it (which seems like most 370Z owners do) what do you think? Is it a gimmick? Do you usually have yours on of off? Would you buy the car without it if you could do it again or is it a must have? I'm very curious to hear people's thoughts on this.

Thanks all!

First of all, congratulations on the new Z! As for synchro rev match, I could see it being useful in day to day traffic just for convenience but for me, part of the joy of driving a manual transmission is to gain the skills of things such as rev matching down shifts and doing heal-toe shifting. I can only go on my experience based on test drives and yes, synchro rev-match is scary good and ten times better at perfect rev matches every time, but I have really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of a manual transmission without having any drivers aides to help.

congrats on the z and when i purchased mine i made sure that it had the sport package for the syncro rev match. it was a must for me and i love it. the rev matches are fast and ridiculous. i wouldn't have bought it any other way. i drive with it turned off sometimes, but nothing beats it with it on.

Oh man... Stance370Z, you are not making me feel any better about not having the feature :icon17: but that is the kind of feedback I was also welcome to hearing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the SRM, and good to hear you are enjoying you 370Z.

I wonder if there is any way to add this feature to a 370Z after the fact. Probably not or I'm guessing it would be really expensive. If anyone has heard about this or inquired to Nissan about it I'd be interested in hearing the feedback. Probably not as easy as just adding the button where my dummy button is now located :rofl2:

different opinion than stance..
I have every option on my roadster but the slushbox..I have driven manuals all my life, (cars/motorcycles). I find it awkward to not have the compression braking avail to me with the syncro on? It does make it fool proof to stick a gear but to me just a plus, Ive had it turned on maybe 50 miles out of the 2k on the car. I got my sport for the limited slip and the rays looky nice too. syncro was a plus. neat feature but driver preference
