Traded the C6 Vette for a 370z touring
Hello all,
Obviously I am new here. I decided to trade my black C6 vette today for an 09 370z touring that is loaded. 6 speed manual of course along with nav. It has the Injen dual CAIs as well. I had grown tired of the C6 styling and the black paint was wearing me out. The previous owner had burned it pretty bad and I could not find anyone to perform a good correction on the paint. I drove the Z for the first time two weeks ago. Loved it then but wanted to think about it for a while. I decided today to go for it. There is an obvious power difference between the two cars but given I had an 05 with the 6.0 it was not huge. About 60 HP. I think that the Z wins in the handling department however and that is why I bought it. I look forward to learning more about my new purchase here. :tiphat: |
Hello and welcome, you usually hear about guys trading for the vette but never the other way around. I think you will like you z and if there is anything we can do for you just ask. :hello:

Welcome and Congrats on the new Z :hello:

Welcome...the vette was my other choice when I purchased my Z. Congrats.
|
Congratulations. I too chose the Z over a corvette.
|
Welcome and congrats!
|
welcome, I kept my 05 C6 for about a year after I bought my 370. Finally sold it because I didn't drive either one much.
The Z is definitely lower in power, but for me, more satisfying to drive, especially on track. |
Welcome, Nele. Give us a more detailed comparison after a couple weeks. It would be an interesting read!
|
Let's see some before and after! :hello:

Fixed. |
Welcome!
You are not alone. I sold my 1000 HP twin turbo C5 to get a 370. No regrets!!! The Z is a blast to drive. Some day I will be adding forced induction to the Z. :driving: |
Oh man, what a trade!
I definetly see you twin turbo's this lol! Congrats and welcome Sir. |
Corvette paint is extremely hard and needs some seriously abrasive polishes and pads (Meguiar's 105 compound+compounding pad) to do any real correction. The Z should be much more sophisticated though, welcome to the club!

Welcome welcome. Congrats with your new Z car!

Here is the last picture I took of my c6. Hard to see the imperfections but they are there.

I would take a picture of my Z if I could get it out of the garage. 14+" of snow and still falling!

Cannot take pictures of the Z due to all the snow here in Missouri. I picked up a brilliant silver with black leather.
|
Congrats on the Z and welcome to the forum.

welcome to the Z family :driving:

According to Road&Track the current performance pecking order is as follows:
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 405hp 0-60: 4.4 seconds 1/4 mile: 12.7 @ 115.2 mph 60-0 Braking: 107ft. Slalom: 70.2mph. I so often wonder why the slalom tests show the same ,similar, or better speeds do not seem to be 'wrung out', by real world drivers. The OP's feels that the Z handles better. I bet it does. Or is it just that some cars must be driven be the "Stig" to get full potential, and cars like the Z are easily driven? Mustangs post better times than my 300ZX tt, yet never once did any muscle car ever pose a challenge to it. Damned 335i did. To the OP, Nele22, welcome. I too would love to see a write up in a few weeks between the two sports cars. |
