Loving my new 370Z

Bought my first Z (370) this past August and WOW what a car.I first fell for the Z back in 1972 when two shop teachers at my high school both bought 240s. Just kept looking at Zs for all these years. Finally with both kids out of college it was time for me.After a few weeks of prepping my wife for this drastic departure from Volvos ( and a "03 Accord coupe that I had seriously modified) went to my lacal Nissan dealer and got my dream car.
She's an '09 leftover in Monterey blue,7 speed auto, Sport package , illuminated kick plates, splash guards and the best thing was the price. The sticker said 37700.00 and I got it for 28000.00 ( she had 900 test miles on her). If I had to wait 40 years to get a Z, then this car was well worth the wait.
The only down side is how useless the car is on snow and lately I've only been able to take her out in between snowstorms ( good thing the missus still has her XC70 AWD Volvo).
This is my first true sports car and is well worth the wait.

I'm in Middlesex county. That's another thing that I love about this car, it's relative scarcity.I read that the total '09 sales was just over 13k cars in the US.

Welcome and nice price!

Wow - leftover? Sold to you as a new car (warranty starts on the bill of sale)? If so - nice!

welcome on board

Congratulations,

I feel your pain. I picked up my New 2010 6 speed Touring Coupe this past Wednesday the 19th and got stuck in the driveway. Car now only has 24 miles on it! Since it was the middle of winter and who buys a rear wheel drive sports car then, I was able to negotiate the price down to $31K + tax out the door. Sticker was $36,163.00. The car had it's entire life in the showroom! Build date was 07/2010. My wife and I will try to get it out today for a short spin before the Jets game tonight. Lucky I am keeping the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee I bought new in 2000. Still looks and runs like new after 198,000 miles on it.

Bill

72... same year my dad had. He said they were high priced at that time also. But he wish he still had. He still has the shop manual for it. Also welcome.

It's another lovely snowy day here in central Jersey. We're expecting about another 12"" by tomorrow. Barring any more snow over the weekend I just might be able to get the Z out mid next week. At least I work from home and I can go to my garage and stare at her.
Anyone put R2C intakes on their Z?

Sibze 01-26-2011 01:00 PM

Welcome!

ChrisSlicks 01-26-2011 01:01 PM

Congrats.

The car is fine in the snow, it is the tires that are useless in winter conditions. With snow tires you can definitely drive through the winter.

Blue :yum:

I feel the pain... I've had my Z for about 4 months and with all the snow and ice we get...I still haven't had to get an oil change yet. I'd really like to drive it tho before I have to say goodbye

same thing here DrEvil. I am on the coast of lake Michigan and when a slight breeze blows, we get snow. I went into the garage to start mine up and sat there and closed my eyes pretending to be on a canyon road somewhere warm. :)

It already has. 10 days after I got the car I installed a set of R2C coldair intakes in black chrome(they claim up to 15 hp increase). I've also have ready to install (as soon as it warms up) NISMO side skirts and rear spoiler. After reading another members post on dyi install of a Stillen splitter, I just had to order one of those, should be arriving next week.As soon as I find an oem spoiler at a good price I'll be ordering one of those and lastly, for the moment, I've been trying to get to my tuner shop for a catback, but the snowfalls keep getting in the way( 14" here in central Jersey last nite). This car is so wonderfly overpowered that is there a need for more power?
Yep, I think so!

wheee! 01-27-2011 04:59 PM

Get the CBE and go HKS! I love it....

Was on my way to our weekend home in delaware last nite , when I see this beautiful blue 370Z, This was just near the split of rts. 130 and 295 at about 10 minutes to 8. Due to the possible ice and snow this weekend we had to take my wifes' XC 70. If that was your Z and are reading this post, ; your car looked great and and made me smile knowing that I have one like it at home in my garage. The Z is addicting!
