noise like running over gravel
 
When turning the wheel to the extreme right this morning heard rough sounding noise like running over gravel car was on smooth pavement did not see anything when I checked anyone experienced this before

normal sound. the tire is gragging on the ground. something about the turning radius and whatnot.

Its the cold. The potenzas are not good in the cold.

I notice this today for the first time backing out of the driveway. I look out to see if there was gravel. Funny. Then I knew it had to be the tires. I have RE-11's.

Yup. Summer tires get very hard in cold weather and will literally skip over the pavement when you make very hard turns. They effectively turn into hockey pucks and you have less than half of the normal grip you do when they it is warm out, so be very careful if you are driving them around when its below 40 degrees outside.
