Could not wait any longer, picked up a PG today

Well, I had a brilliant silver touring 6mt sport w/nav, kick plates & mats ordered and due in next month. Saw that the dealer got in a platinum graphite with black interior a few days ago. Kept waiting for it to actually arrive so I could see that combo. I was debating on PG vs BS all along. After looking at a silver one (no nav) and the gray one side by side for a long, long time, I pulled the trigger. It was equipped the same except it had splash guards. Dealer was killer to work with and treated me real well.

Finally driving. Put 45 miles on today playing around. What fun! :driving:

Thanks all. I will take some good pics this weekend. Got a real good deal on pricing, you could tell they were very interested in making a sale for their end of Feb numbers.

LenZToy 02-26-2009 02:19 PM

That's awesome! Planning to see my dealer on Sunday for the PG w/ Black or Grey interior...it all hinges on the trade-in. Looking forward to seeing your pics. Please take a couple of the interior. Congrats on the purchase!

Oh hell yeah, Great color choice my friend. That first picture is overflowing with win. Awesome car! Whats the plan?

Oh and hey, you can update your "drives" in your profile :)

par4bmw 03-01-2009 12:48 AM

Looking at Berk HFCs right away. Want to see what the combo of it an the Stillen cat-back does, then do it next. Also, want to see a little more on how the intakes are doing on future dynos and will go with either the Stillen or JWT.

Might do some minor cosmetic stuff to the outside but nothing to radical.

Thanks for the pic comment and I updated the "Drives"

Here you go. I did not notice the steering was tilted and the smudges on the nav until after downloading, sorry.

NOOO! Another color that looks really good once people get the exposure/WB right! Damn you! Now I'm up to MB, BS, and PG for color choices! Argh!

In all seriousness, congrats and enjoy the beaut, she'll treat you well.

And I'll ask again, can I/we have pictures/videos of the navi unit?

Oh, and what's your backdrop? Really beautiful place. Then again, I've only lived in Boston and Houston state side, so I don't have much to compare to.

off topic: I need to get a job on the west coast...

Thanks. That is the McDowell Mtns, they are right behind my house and are a gorgeous range. The cacti and stuff are the way it looks when things are natural in the Sonoran desert. Around where I live, they have left most areas natural looking.

I will take a nav vid tomorrow. Anything in particular you are especially interested in seeing?

epod86 03-01-2009 01:43 AM

Wait a minute...I just noticed this... The cup holder is off to the side! A cup holder that doesn't sit in the middle of your shift causing constant spills/mucked shifts? Genius!

The 05+ pony has two useless holders right in the middle of where your arm needs to be to shift, drives me nuts.

I think it must be late...everything astonishes me.

To be honest, I would love a little of everything, like the gamut of status displays for HVAC, audio, nav, and what not. Some text-to-speech and voice control would be great to. The other biggy would be your opinion on the accuracy. My current Avic F90bt is useless with frontage roads in Houston so i constantly have to keep an eye if I miss an exit. But that really doesn't need to be filmed and you may/may not have a appropriate road handy. Ipod or CF slot maybe?

I mean, you don't have to run through EVERY display/function, but certainly the ones you would frequent/play with, and to get an idea of the speed/response time. That's another area where my f90bt falls on it's face.

Cheers mate!

NASA AZ Schedule

par4bmw 03-01-2009 02:02 AM

travisjb,
Appreciate the invite and I would love to attend but I have not tracked yet. I do plan on it with the Z so I am going to sign up for driving school. That looks like a great event. Hope to see you at a future event. Keep in touch on the AZ thread with any happenings you hear of.

LenZToy 03-01-2009 09:10 AM

Thanks for the interior pics, really appreciate the response!

drmike 03-01-2009 09:32 AM

Nice car in a nice place! Great pics.

FairmanZ 03-01-2009 03:40 PM

Nice car! Really nice!

Damn this Z looks good in all the colors!

AK370Z 03-01-2009 05:38 PM

Congrats!

I can see why you couldn't wait any longer. I had to wait two days and I was ready to lose it, in those 48 hours.

This was my 2nd color option (out of 3 colors I submitted to the dealer). If they were not able to locate the blue, I was going with this one.

Very nice color! Love all the pictures. Here's one of my favorite:

Thanks AK. That one was at sunset so it is reflecting the reds from the sky and creating the pinkish hue. PG is very fun to photograph since it really reflects light interestingly. I like that one as well but wish the saguaro was did not have the bracing and the new building was being constructed. They just starting to develop this office park across the street from my neighborhood. Worked well for pics since there is no traffic yet.

par4,
do you know what that lever on the driver's seat(center console side)
is for?

thanks

par4bmw 03-02-2009 10:33 AM

That is the lumbar adjustment. Only has it on the driver's seat.
