I got it!!

Drove it home today...

2009 370Z M/T, Touring and Sports Pkg.

Monterey Blue w/ Persimmon interior

MSRP: $38490.00

Purchased: $32500.00

W/wheel locks and window etching included....

One question: Pardon my stupidity, but what's the story on the window etching? I'm just an old coot and haven't read the paperwork that came with the window etching...how's that work?

Neat car so far...

kenchan 07-07-2010 07:12 PM

Sounds like a great deal. :D

Window etching is like putting spit on your donuts so noone else wants it.

Mozen 07-07-2010 07:22 PM

Grats on the Z!! Sounds like you got a great deal! Are you going to add mods or keep stock for a while?

Superthug 07-07-2010 07:23 PM

Congrats...you got a good deal...post some pics up :D

medicbill 07-07-2010 07:30 PM

Thanks all...I'm for leaving it stock for now...but my 29 year old is outside looking at it and I can see the gears turning...

sonic370 07-07-2010 07:39 PM

craniac24 07-07-2010 07:44 PM

Window etching is a security feature that costs the dealership around $20. The dealership then turns around and sells this "feature" for a few hundred bucks. Nonetheless, it sounds like you got a great deal! Congrats!

SkyZ 07-07-2010 07:48 PM

congrats on the car and welcome to the community.

When my dealer asked if I wanted the window etching I just shoved my balls up on my window and saved money on the etching. He just looked at me like

I got the exact same car at the same price this february, except that my Z is a 2010, not 2009, and I got an automatic not manual. so i don't think yours was a good deal.

Yes, but when your vagina starts to itch after driving an automatic for awhile, you won't think it's such a good deal anymore. :stirthepot:

You should check if your insurance provider offers a discount for having window etchings on the car. If so, it may prove to be worth the few extra bucks in the long run.

on the contrary, i can drive the paddle shifters and beat a manual anytime.

/scratches head.. you do realize you have less hp and more weight right? Not by much but still.. A good launch from the MT should definitely give anyone in the 7AT a good run.. Unless your speaking about yourself being slower with a manual?

Anyways welcome!

paddle shifters on the Z is faster than a manual Z. I didn't make it up. It's how the Zs were designed. you can do a search there's a lot of discussions about it.

while thats true, its also proven that auto saps power. you can also do a search here. i forget who says it but its either a sponsor or a shop that has done dyno work and proved that auto puts less power down. + auto is like someone else said heavier, so it may shift faster but a good launch would give u a run for ur money.

Maybe stock vs. stock. With that said... I'll take you up on this challenge at the track. :D

An extra 55 rwhp will etch out quicker paddle shifting every time.;)

I'm happy for you.

Really.

Of course, you couldn't GIVE me the 7AT. To each his own. Probably why you got a good deal. Have fun with it.

Just sayin...
