It's Z time - Feb 12, 2009

Just picked up my new Z tonight (Feb 12, 2009)! Drives nice and lot's of fun in the few miles I put on it tonight. Set the shift indicator for 4000 rpm... trying to be good and follow the recommended break-in. It's hard. :driving:

Monterey Blue
Base
Sports Pkg
Splash guards
Illuminated kickplates
Carpeted floor mats

Here are some more pics taken Friday morning.

Took the day off and enjoyed the car. I suddenly have the urge to run errands all over town.:tiphat:

Very Nice pictures! Specially this one. The splash guards "must have" add on. They complete the exterior look.

That first photo, makes a beautiful back ground screen! You captured the beauty of the 370 in that one!

Splash guards rock socks. I got em on my 350. At the time, I didn't care, but I realized they add something to the looks. Also, a lot more people choosing the blue color than I would have expected.

I don't know whats nicer, your house, z, or camera, i think i'm gonna stay away from this forum for a while. I'm getting blue balls not planning to get mine's till chrismas.

frost 02-13-2009 11:29 PM

^ I'm trying to do the same thing you are (waiting until x-mas). It's been rough, because I've been on the 70 since the beginning and now I'm watching people who know nothing about them buying them. lol

Update and install of speakers...

Hi Everyone,

I am a couple of days into owning my Z now and enjoying it. It is hard to follow the suggested break-in. Not that I want to take the car to the red-line, but it is easy to jump to 4000 rpm quickly in every gear, especially 1-3. Overall, no real complaints about the car. :icon18: It is nice!

New speakers and Amp: Yesterday, I had some new speakers and an amp installed. Not too much power, but enough to sound good on the base model. I kept the head unit. There are spots for two rear speakers (not used on the base model). I did not have speakers installed there, but imagine the wire is there if want to do something later. Also, had my Valentine 1 hard-wired… looks like the posts by Semtex.

A tip for speaker install for those who may not be experienced with G37 and 370Z…. If door panels are removed, you have to re-set the windows after the install by following the sequence in the owner’s manual. Otherwise, the windows will lower down slightly when exiting the vehicle but will not close the gap when you close the door. Also, the auto-up feature will not work. This was a learning for me.

Hope to do tinting next week – wanted to get the speakers done first so would not interfere with tint job. Thinking about doing the Berk HFC’s offered by DDM.
