Doesn't look like it's a sport package. Base rims, no spoiler, no front lip. Did I miss something?

boosteeddc 01-26-2009 08:35 PM

Hey Welcome to the forums. Very nice PG you've got. But your description of the Z shocks me!!! You DO NOT have the sports package. If you did pay extra 3,000 , I want you to either

a. Take your car back and demand another Z with sports package or

b. Get $3000 back.

It's very sad how dealer will lie to their customer who just paid $40K dollars. :shakes head:

Let us know how it goes. If they give you hard time, maybe I can let the Nissan know.

boosteeddc 01-27-2009 01:28 AM

the car was 38k invoice, 42,500 msrp, salesman at reed nissan told me it had sports package... since it was the only 370 sitting there, i couldnt see a sports package in the lot to compare so i didnt know and i was in a hurry, so i tried to negotiate, they said it was a 2009 so they wouldnt come down on the price not even a bit so i said forget it, signed it and drove it off, now that i registered for this forum, i see that i got raped for the sport package part, but ohwell, to save the trouble of going back, im gonna mod it so it dont make a difference

aha .. I see what happened. That's why I always tell people to research before buying a car. Just curious, does it say sports package in the window sticker?

Crash 01-27-2009 03:45 AM

I'm lost... So did you or didn't you pay for the sports package??? I'm guessing by AK's response, you didn't.

Modding it yourself will be fine. Seems that there are a LOT of options right now, almost making the sports package a waste if you're getting the auto. So you'll be just fine.

boosteeddc 01-27-2009 11:14 AM

i believe the window sticker did say sport package also, i got the auto cause its a daily beater so i dont wanna sit in traffic in a manual, but isnt the a/t faster than manual?

I see your point about modding the car and you're obviously in a position where $3,000 won't break the bank, but not every consumer is in that position. I would atleast call him. You don't have to ruffle any feathers. Just let him know he made a mistake. It's possible it may have been inadvertent. Between rims, a body kit and all that other stuff you will probably be spending about $3,000. Maybe he can make the price adjustment without you being present.

This situation is obviously as important as you feel it is, but you should get what you paid for or pay the correct price for what you got. It's not even about the $3,000. It's about the principle and the trust a consumer should expect from a dealership. Again, even if you are not stressing the money at the very least you can save someone else from going through the same thing if they buy from him.

Great post! I agree with you 100%

boosteeddc 01-27-2009 04:43 PM

you have your point, let me go B**** out the salesman one of these days and get them to give me their gt-r for invoice hehe

ScooterN2 01-27-2009 06:09 PM

Regardless of your future plans for mods, you should definately go back and complain and get some money back for a lack of the sport options (or at least from what we can tell from a photo someone at least swapped out the wheels/tires). It's a matter of principal to not do something when a grievous error or con job was performed.

If the better brakes, wheels, and limited slip differential are not important to you then getting a refund may be acceptable, otherwise they need to be finding you a replacement car.

Not sure if you drove the mercedes to to dealer or not, but if you did and you told them the Z was to be your daily beater, then they may have identified you and an easy mark and took advantage of you. Walking away once without purchasing may have softened them up some.

But congrats anyway on your new Z. Have fun!

boosteeddc 01-27-2009 07:04 PM

ohhhhhh, so the sports package comes with those brembos and lsd?????? i thought it was only a wing and those other ugly wheels... now we're talking, im going back there tomorow first thing, im not a good talker, anybody tell me what to say when i go?

Crash 01-27-2009 07:54 PM

Yep... Brakes, wheels, aero package, better manual trans (which doesn't affect you), LSD, and I know I'm forgetting something. I guess the tires, but I don't think that's it.

Yes, boosteeddc, with base you do not have the LSD, lightweight forged wheels, Bigger AKEBONO brakes etc... I would at least call them and see what they say. Keep us posted, man. If they give you hard time, let me know. I can always send an email to Nissan Corporate ;)

boosteeddc 01-28-2009 01:10 AM

would your email be affective? i doubt theyre going to do anything about it but im gonna go and see what happens... supposebily me and the salesman is pretty friendly, joked around and let me test drove nismo 350z(which was dissapointing after having the 370) when others wasnt allowed... anyway, ill keep u guys posted, thanks for all the help

ScooterN2 01-28-2009 05:11 AM

It may be a lot easier than you think. After you point out the error, they will probably try to be very accomodating. After all, I think that what they have done is illegal and you do have documentation (evidence). I'd try to be nice about it (at first) to give them an opportunity to acknowledge their mistake and fix the problem and be clear to them what you preference is (ie new car or refund).

Hopefully you won't have to escalate things to the manager, nissan corporate, or legal avenues. I would also recommend that you go to the Nissan website to see exactly what is in the Sport package so you can point those items out to them. Good luck.

I live in orlando and i went to this dealer to check out the Zs that they had and founf the salesman to be unknoledgeable about the vehicle I used to take an armada for servicing and something always came up for not having my vehicle done on time. when i went the had a chicane yellow and a monterey blue both with sport packages but that was on the 10 of this month if u payed the extra 3000 you should get that money back and i am pretty sure u wouldnt mind since ur doing upgrades. boosted do u drive around ferncreek and colonial because i saw a base on silver and that the first 370 that ive seen in orlando. best of luck to u

boosteeddc 02-01-2009 05:52 PM

just a update guys... i took out the window paper and took a look at it... nowhere on it says sport package... so basicly its only gonna be he said she said, nothing proves that he lied to me about it and i paid extra.. so anyone think i should still go and see? or its a done deal

TheManTheMyth 02-01-2009 06:03 PM

no way man go back in there and raise some hell

boosteeddc 02-01-2009 08:57 PM

yea but nothing proves that he lied... really nothing i can do in this situation, when papers are signed, its a done deal... im still gonna go and see what he says, which his probably gonna deny it.. but if he does, i dunno what to do from there
