What to fix on a new 09 touring.

Hey everybody like the title says I'm a happy owner of an 09 touring with a m/t. The car has 149k miles on it. What all do I need to look for problem wise with a car this old? Also I have the supercharger whine when I press on the gas through the first 4 gears but uve read that it's normal for these cars. The car also sounds funny when the clutch is engaged at idle but I think the clutch just needs to be replaced. Thanks in advance for any help and replies. I'll be checking this daily for any answers. Happy driving to all.

Welcome to the 370Z forums. Congratulations our Nissan 370Z’s are actually very reliable and dependable vehicles to own as long as you do all of your general maintenance on time. Depends really where the whine noise you are hearing is coming from? Noises are honestly best diagnosed by a shop in person and would be hard to diagnose over this wonderful forum. A lot of the time this whine noise could be coming from the front of the engine. I recommend having a shop or a Nissan dealership service department you trust diagnose this noise hopefully it is not your oil pump as they tend to be a weak link on our VQ37HR engines. At 150K miles honestly you are fortunate your clutch and flywheel lasted that long I would definitely install a new clutch and flywheel and at the same time install a Z Speed Performance CMAK before your genuine Nissan CSC fails and leaves you stranded somewhere. I have replacement three genuine Nissan CSC before I finally installed the Z Speed Performance CMAK and never had a problem since I installed it. Also a great time to do all your basic maintenance like change all of your fluids and change your spark plugs. The manual transmission fluid is pretty easy to flush and refill yourself in your Z as well as the differential.

Depending on what you are going to use your Z for of course I highly recommend the Z Speed Performance South Bend Stage 2 or Stage 3 clutch and flywheel kit. You will love driving your Z after you install this clutch and flywheel kit. Just ask for Joe when you call he will take care of you.

Awesome thanks for the reply! Where do I find this Joe?

Joe at ZSpeed Performance

You might also considering getting Blackstone Labs to do an oil analysis for you. Good use of $20 :twocents:

First thing I'd recommend is checking that your ESCL (steering lock) has been disabled. If not, pull the fuse. Then I'd start with the first reply above and work my way down.

After 10 years, just about any quirk or fault with the 370Z has been documented on this site - search is your friend.
