Hello from Nebraska

Hello all,

Just wanted to stop in and say hello,

I just purchased a 2010 Base Model (no sport package) 370z in Black Cherry. If I'm completely honest, I was actually searching for a 350z, I was looking for a 2006+ Z with at least the touring package or better with super low miles and no accidents, and they were a very very hard find. And all the while (about a year worth of hard searching) I kept seeing this black cherry 370z sitting at a reputable dealership in town, just out of my price range, but as she sat there, winter came, and the price fell, and she sat, and the price fell even more until it was just in the top of my price range and I figured I just had to come take a look.

After sitting inside, I was sold, the interior of the 370z is a major step forward from the 350z, as I'm sure you are all aware, also traction and cruise control came standard on all 370's which were some of the main reasons I refused a base model in 350's. A LSD would have been preferable here in Nebraska for winter driving, but thus far, the VDC has been sufficient as compared to absolutely 0 TCS systems on my 2005 Nissan Frontier. Also she still smelled new, with 34,500 miles and mint interior. She had Clarion navi headunit, which is kind of a negative in my opinion but I wasn't gonna not buy a sound car because of a head unit, I have 2 other aftermarket units in my garage in case the navi unit turns out to be frustrating.

I will post a few pictures from the day I brought her home (Thursday Jan 29, 2015) We have since gotten about 2 feet of snow in the past week so she's all dirty now.

A quick rundown of things I hope to do in the near future.

-Enjoy a true drivers car, respectfully and safely
-take the 6x9's that I already own and replace the door speakers with them (I am aware that I need to make a custom bracket, but that shouldn't be a problem, better than selling my 6x9's and losing money buying 6.5's).
-Tow Hook is already on the way from Ptuning.com, at the recommendation of many forum posts here, billet steel and powder coated for the possibility of actually needing a tow out of the snow, also because racecar.
-examine the best way to increase the audio capability of the vehicle, new tweeters are a possibility, wiring the rear speaker locations and inserting speakers is also an option.
-I have a 12" from my frontier, of which I custom built and painted to fit a box for, I may look into installing it above the spare tire, I read a spectacular write up on how to do that here And will look into it come springtime.
-Whiteline Rear Differential Bushings are already on the way, found the silicon based grease on my garage floor the night after I brought her home, the dealership kindly offered to install them for free, which they should have, but still it was nice not to have to fight them for it.
-Would love to find some Nismo Z seats and throw them in, not super interested in full race seats yet, but we need to acrew a little bit of spending money before we move on to these expensive mods.
-Intake and upgraded plenum would be my first performance mods, but I'm really in no rush.

I attached a few pictures below,

Thanks for all the information I've already gotten from this site, I hope to be around for a long long time

Konrad

ps. after previewing my post, it shows the pictures are upside down, but they are rightside up on my comptuer where I uploaded them, strange..

The biggest difference is the interior, the interior of a 350 when I sat in them (even grand touring ones) felt like "i'll deal with this kinda junky interior for the enjoyment of having a real drivers car, this is where nissan cut costs to make the rest of the car" The door panels and center console and the place where the navi unit would sit, were always always scratched, even if there was like 30,000 miles on the car. So when i got in the base model 370z, and it was nearly identical inside to the 2014 Nismo 370z that I sat in at a recent auto show. I was sold because it felt so nice and solid inside, it was noticeably quieter and felt more solid going over bumps when driving. The interior made the move from cheesy to classy.

Also the 370z felt quicker, but had the same great short shifts and nice feeling behind the wheel.
