370z from Wales, UK!

Hi all! As the title says I'm based in the UK, from a City called Cardiff in a little country called Wales to be more precise!

Anyway, thought I'd sign up here as I'm visiting the US again soon and staying in the family's Villa in Florida for a few weeks so had the idea to possibly pick up some parts over there that were small/lightweight enough to bring back with me as you guys seem to get a much better deal on car parts than us Brits! :shakes head: So thought I'd say hello before contacting a few members regarding for sale ads! :)

Few quick pics of the car for now, owned it about a month after writing off my old 350z :( Not had much chance to do any mods yet becuase of the weather but so far I've had;
-Steering wheel retrimmed in alcantara/napa leather and reprofiled with the flat bottom.
-Custom cat back exhaust (no pics or vids yet sorry)
-OEM wheels resprayed BMW Ferric grey by the dealer
-20/25mm front/rear spacers
-All interior/exterior bulbs swapped out for LED's

Other than that I have some evo -r sideblades that I may or may not go ahead with fitting and still desperate to lower it a sensible amount but our roads and speed bumps over here aren't as gentle as in the US and the one's leading to my flat have ripped off front chin spoiler as it is :(

Anyway, a few (very poor one's) pics from when I picked it up and after the wheel/spacers were fitted...

Hi mate

Is your steering wheel like the ones I've been seeing on ebay in the UK?

Maybe see you around some time :)

Congrats and welcome! :tiphat:

Would like to see a pic of the steering wheel.

Cheers both! I have tried posting a lot more pics but for some reason it won't let me! I'll try just attatching them or copying links instead here of the wheel and a rear shot after the spacers went on :)

The wheel is a custom one from a company called Royal Steering Wheels. Basically he sources a standard 370z wheel (which he had in stock already) and takes your payment plus a £50 deposit. Then retrims and reprofiles if possible in any material/colours/stitching/centre bands that you want. Once you recieve and fit the wheel and return your standard one to him he refunds the £50 deposit for the exchnage service.

I can't reccomend them enough, the service and quality is incredible! Looks OEM but better. Everyone comments on it but no-one realises it's a customisation :) Also it costs me £190 I think. Would have been just £120 without the flat bottom.

Thanks for that. I did some research a little time ago and they came up with some good recommendations. I never got as far as getting a quote so that's useful info :)

So, time to ask a stupid question.... What is the advantage to having the bottom of the steering wheel flat?

JoshC 02-02-2015 03:49 AM

Cheers all! :D

Well the main reason I wanted it was purely cosmetic tbh but I think the original reason behind them is to make it easier to squeeze your legs under high bolstered seats! With my long legs I have found myself that my knees bump on the wheel less often :)
