I bet many will scoff at this...but there's more than a few of us who watch anime / read manga lurking around here. So here's a thread for us to offer some thoughts on what we're watching, give some recommendations, etc.

I will start out with my current anime recommendation: Gosick.

Sherlock Holmes-esque mystery show, except Sherlock is a little girl...:rofl2: way to go, Japan! This show is a LOT of fun to watch, although the mystery solving is a bit 'deux ex machina', i.e. it's not a natural progression, it's more of "...wtf?" straight to "here lemme explain it you idiots."

For manga...I dunno. If you haven't yet, go read Black Lagoon.

My fav two were Gundam:Wing and DB:Z and only those segments of the brand. I didn't care for Mobile Suit:Gundam or DB:GT just those two.

Endless Waltz is very good as well. Other then that, I stay away.

I don't watch a lot.

I like many of Miyazaki's movies, especially Porco Rosso.

I liked Trigun, Outlaw Star, Record of Lodoss War, Vampire Hunter D, and several others.

Nausicaa > Porco Rosso IMO

My little sister is begging me to find copies of Inuyasha...ugh.

I have Outlaw star on DVD.

Akira Toriyama fans should pick up the Dr. Slump manga -- dumb, but fvcking hilarious, and you can definitely see the origins of all the ideas that eventually became Dragon Ball.

Those of you familar with Lone Wolf and Cub should also try Path of the Assassin and Samurai Executioner.

Just re-re-re-read JoJo's Bizzare adventure (at least the short series that was translated into English) and all 28 volumes of Ruroni Kenshin (the anime is much dumber than the manga).

Lone Wolf and Cub :tup: I haven't read that in ages! Not to mention it's one of the lesser known mangas. Good find!

I'm a big fan of Manga much to the chagrin of my Girlfriend and delight of her children.

I'm always on the lookout for a new good series, Naruto has finally heated up with the next episode promising to be the most exciting since the Pain vs Naruto Battle.

I'm thinking the next episode is going to be full of flashbacks like the past few episodes. Sasuke and Naruto just met up...they're not just going to go straight into battle.

They're supposed to, but nooo it's like bleach, every battle takes 10 ******* episodes to complete

j/k I just figured since they just spent 2 episodes doing Kakashi and Sakura flashbacks they might actually give us some action.
