Thoughts (most likely spoilery, so skip if you're worried):
I actually like Bane's "pimp coat" as Korey calls it - it looks more like the sort of thing a paid mercenary would wear. Something that could come in handy during the cold Gotham winter (which is when most of this is set). Also, Bane may not be using "venom" as it were in the film. Bane's face is seriously injured and the mask supplies him with a mixture of chemicals and stuff that makes it easier for him to breathe (and maybe lessen his sensitivity to pain, etc). So it's not a hokey super-chemical, it's more like a portable anesthesia system. In the prologue, the guy asks him "if I take that off, will it kill you" and Bane says (clearly *AHEM*) "it would be painful". The other thing about Bane is that he actually hasn't used venom in a looong time in the comics. He's obsessed with self-mastery (hence his original goal of defeating Batman - to prove his superiority over him) and he realized that venom was a crutch. It's also been hinted that Bane and Bruce have a sort of twisted shared past together.
Marion Cotillard is cast as "Miranda Tate", a high level Wayne Industries executive. They've also basically spoiled that yes, she is Talia Al Ghul. This explains Bane's vehicles as well - if a lowly accountant can find the plans for the Tumbler, imagine what information an actual executive with access can get. Ras is not the kind of person to put all his eggs in one basket - Talia has probably been working inside Wayne Industries for years, gathering secrets (like perhaps maybe info about a certain microwave emitter that was stolen in the first film?). That's how Bane's forces have Tumblers - they built (and modified) their own, based on the actual plans.
As it's been said a dozen times already, Batman's ears are 1) to look like a bat since that's his whole schtick and 2) they house sensitive radio/cellular/surround technology inside them. There are scenes in Begins that show him designing it, and scenes in TDK where he uses it (like the scene where he's standing atop the building overlooking the city and scanning various frequencies). Bruce Wayne taking more of a front seat in the films is both because yes, Bruce is still Batman even without the suit and also simply because actors tend to require a certain amount of face-time in their own films. That's why most superhero films have extended scenes where the character doesn't wear his mask (for instance, Captain America or the campy Raimi Spider-Man films where half of NY has seen his face). It's because no actor will sign on to a film where they're behind a mask for most of it.
The trailer addresses that it's been 8 years of peace in Gotham after the events of TDK. Combined with new laws (spurred on by the memory of Harvey Dent) and a less corrupt police force (under Gordon), there hasn't been an actual real need for Batman for a long time. A recurring theme in Nolan's film is that Bruce will do anything to not have to be Batman anymore. This film will probably show what happens when there isn't a Batman anymore (and most likely show that there will always be a need for Batman).
It seems that Bane has a League of Shadows connection and is likely another one of Ras' disciples (again - eggs in different baskets) and with the loss of their leader, he's probably stepped up to become the new head, alongside Talia Al Ghul. They go to Gotham to complete her father's goal of bringing down the city, stocked with mercenaries, assassins, and a fleet of their own customized vehicles (which Talia stole the plans for years ago through Wayne Industries).
If the film continues the previous two films trend of following Campbellian arcs, this third film will probably follow suit with themes of "The Road Back", "The Resurrection", and "Return With Elixir" (if you're familiar). Combine that with the elements of the trailer and proven rumors it seems that the film will probably go along these lines... (stupid limit): Batman (convinced that his battle is over after so long) gives up the cowl, then Bane attacks and Bruce faces him. Bane, as the "shattered mirror" version of Batman, uses his own techniques against him and eventually bests him, "breaking the bat". Batman succumbs to defeat, but only long enough to once again find purpose and rise to the challenge (the resurrection part of the arc) when someone new comes on the scene (Catwoman) who forces him to reconsider the nature of his mission and the reasons why he does it. Together, they take on Bane's forces and defeat him, and Bruce continues on as Batman indefinitely, having realized that his war will never actually be over. Both Begins and TDK hammered home that Bruce doesn't want to be Batman, this will be the film that turns that around and Bruce realizes that what Rachel Dawes said in the first film is true: Bruce Wayne is the mask. This would be the logical conclusion of the major themes in each film: Begins was about Batman facing his destiny, TDK was about Batman facing his opposite, TDKR could be about Batman facing himself (figuratively speaking). Bane and Batman as reflections of each other, but with violently opposing means to their particular ends. Just my two (or two hundred) cents on the whole thing.

I saw the 8 min clip at the IMAX recently while watching mission impossible 4 and let me tell you, the trailer was soooooo awesome that the MI4 felt like a let down. Th preview was so intense I felt like I could not breathe and once it was over, I could have gone home happy. The best $14.00 bucks on any movie, period!!!

By the way MI4 was pretty good.

Looks like your man used to have embedded spikes in his cranium, too, judging from the holes on his scalp.

I cannot find it, but there is a picture from behind with the mask off that shows some scars.
Which most are assuming are left over from whatever was done to him, and the reason he now has to wear the mask 24/7.

So a few things:
They have altered Bane's voice, there is a question if in one scene someone else is wearing the Bat costume because of the chin (this one is rumor) leading to a certain character "playing" the role of batman.
Overall this is looking better and better and I cannot wait for this movie.
What do you think, will Batman beat it? I'm gonna go with no, although I personally am much more interested in batman than avengers.

It will all come down to how many theaters they allow it to be released in.
I do believe it can beat it, because it is the end of the trilogy, Batman alone is a bigger name than just the Avengers overall (a lot of people don't even know who was on the Avenger team).

Yeah I definitely think it's possible. I for one am going to help in that effort by going to see it the first night it is released

The Avengers did it right by dropping hints in several other movies over the years building interest. You're right, most non comic book people wouldn't really know who they were, then they see this big cast of stars and go see it just to find out :wtf: The Avengers are... :icon14:

You need to learn that planning a MAZOC meet to go see a movie together is like planning for a disaster to happen.
