So, word on the street is, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing Alberto Falcone, son of Carmine Falcone, who you will remember as the mobster from the first movie:

This character was kept out of the "family business" earning degrees from ivy league schools, but eventually returns to become a serial killer "holiday" who kills Gotham City criminals.

I could see that happening, Nolan likes to use people in multiple movies and it would fit nicely into a third movie.
Just hope it is not to many characters in one film.

I think Catwoman is a fine choice since she will just be that annoying character that gets in Batman's way time and again, and Bane will be focusing on reuniting the underworld the Joker tore up.

it also adds a healthy dose of sexual tension. as batman and catwoman have that love hate relationship. bringing Penguin in would be awesome... so would clay face!

I love Nolan's adaptation to the Batman Characters I just hope he stays true to them. As for the Joker there has never been a villain that I couldn't wait to see what he was going to do next. So to say that it wasn't well played or the character was not true to the comics is just dumb. The Joker was always supposed to be a lunatic that had calculating moves that created anarchy for Batman. Batman was actually a dark comic, but to make it kid friendly the creators took a different route over time.
