I think the Governor & his men had the high ground and advantage. They were pretty far away and had cover. The guard tower guy had the high ground, another was in the thick brush/woods and the governor had both flanks covered. If you notice, no one really shot at the governor with any attempt at precision. Rick's group was essentially in the open and unprepared for a fire fight. As far as marksmanship, I know its just a show, but it would kind of make sense that shooting a predictable target like a walker, would be a lot easier to take down than someone who is shooting back at you with an equally accurate rifle. To my knowledge, this is the first time Carl has been in a real fire fight against living people. It would also make sense that the governor's plan wasn't to kill everyone there.

Solid reply. I wonder his purpose of terrorizing the group vs killing them is, though. In the comics he has a pretty clear purpose when he gets to the prison.

Since I didn't watch the comic, I never expect someone to randomly get shot in the head. Better episode than the premier, but it was definitely painful to watch the crew get their asses handed to them, and equally as painful to watch rick spiral out of control.

cossie1600 02-18-2013 02:16 PM

Why didn't Glen try to flip the Governor's truck when they basically crosspathed with each other? Kinda silly

I was expecting him to ram him!

HKYStormFront 02-18-2013 04:42 PM

i like how the governor sniped the one guy, then just sprayed bullets from then on... that made no sense. or was it the guy on the tower who initiated?

Dzel 02-18-2013 04:51 PM

I litterally jumped up and cheered when Daryl and Merle came out of no where and started whooping some ***

I got the impression it was the governor. Which, it would be a little silly when youre going to snipe someone to not pick out one of the leaders, but wutev, it's tv.

yea exactly... of course i don't think they saw Rick over to their left but there were plenty of other targets, granted who he sniped was one of the closest if my recollection of the topology is accurate (assuming he didn't notice Michone not too far away). my question is... why bother shooting at all? why not just drive the "tank" in and GTFO? seems kinda wasteful to me other than he got a massive stiffy from the whole thing. i just feel sorry for the guy who had to ride back with him... i'm sure that wasn't, pleasant :ugh2:

frost 02-21-2013 12:40 AM

Kind of chuckled ...

Last night's episode was good...esp the ending scene with Andrea's silhouette. :D

Dzel 02-25-2013 06:58 PM

Yes.

I loved Hershal's speech to Rick to get his *** back in gear, and Maggie's singing was pretty sweet. People don't give the dialog the credit it deserves! Damn I just love this damn show. Oh and Andrea is such a POS.

Andrea is a writer's yoyo.

The character's intelligence goes up and down depending how best to advance the plot. A faux dynamic character as opposed to true dynamic or static.

I like how if it was the governor who sniped Col. Sanders. He did it with his patched right eye in line with the scope. So maybe it was supposed to be the guy on the tower and the governor was just spraying since he lost his good eye.

Maggie's singing  I thought it was her little sister who did the singing.

The Dimer 02-26-2013 11:26 AM

Beth was the one singing.

HKYStormFront 02-27-2013 04:54 PM

mediocre episode at best. i'm getting so damn tired of andrea's dumb***-ness. people with HALF a brain don't act like that.

at least michone said something...

Great episode, but wth is up with all these foreign actors?

The Governor, Rick and now even Morgan are all British? And Jason Stackhouse is an Aussie! WTF?

RoshDawg 03-03-2013 10:34 PM

Lol seriously. If they didn't say AMC all the time I would've thought Walking Dead plays on BBC!

One of the best episodes yet. Morgan's dialog was unbelievably amazing.

Talking dead is getting really annoying with that guy. Its like you get all sucked in to the show with your emotions and that host's overly goofy attitude just pulls you right out.

KillerBee370 03-04-2013 12:21 AM

Fantastic episode.

Jordo! 03-04-2013 12:38 AM

Tonight's episode was easily the best scripted since the very first one or two.

Although, in the AMC universe, Morgan apparently won't be joining them...? Maybe in a later episode?

silentnightz 03-04-2013 02:17 AM

This episode was awesome

We always have some friends over and record it, start it about half an hour after the episode would have started though so we can skip the commercials, I'll agree he is annoying!

It was a great episode, a few laughs in this one as well.

Chris Hardwick is out of his depth without Jenny McCarthy for backup :icon17:

speedfreek 03-04-2013 09:14 AM

Favorite quotes of the episode, Rick: "Oh so we are eating his food now?" Michionne: "The mat said welcome..."

Great episode. I would set up shop like Morgan.

Mitco39 03-04-2013 09:34 AM

Can you imagine how much money they saved buy having such a small cast last episode? Makes me think something big is coming.

HKYStormFront 03-04-2013 10:02 PM

one of the best episodes yet! NO ANDREA!! :P

Dzel 03-05-2013 04:52 AM

The only good scenes she has is when she doesn't speak and her clothes are off!! LOL

Rooster89 03-05-2013 08:23 AM

I love this last episode. one of the best. Everything just went well. Love the hiker. The did a great job of finally portraying Michonne's human side. And morgan provided a great catalystic foil to rick's recent behavior. Well done chaps!

KillerBee370 03-05-2013 01:48 PM

Rick sure has changed. Not for the better. Should have picked up the hiker. It's inconsistent to show compassion one minute and then be stone cold the next.

i'm not sure what you mean there? he's grown cold to the outside world. he can't risk taking on anyone else in their group really.
