My only experience was during a Dyno day. They didn't tie down my car correctly and pushed my exhaust into my bumper, melting it underneath. They also couldn't get a torque reading easily. Probably fine for your exhaust install, but I'd be weary of getting on the dyno. If you do watch them VERY carefully. They do a lot of Honda builds. I've heard good things in general for them, just had a bad experience. Should be fine for your exhaust install.

Well, Central Imports did the install yesterday, and (as far as I can tell) they did a great job. I went with Resonated Test Pipes and the catback with 18" resonators. I'm happy with the sound. A little bit of drone at certain RPMs, but overall it's not bad at all. Absolutely no rasp, either!
Here are some pics. The only thing I'm worried about is that with the NISMO bumper, the tips don't look like they go out as far as they should. I'm sure it's fine, but I'm just worried that without the cats, stuff might build up on the bumper (see last 2 pics). http://i.imgur.com/6toI5JLl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HRtz8VEl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hVL5oqEl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/K5WhdmQl.jpg |
Glad to hear! Looks good!

Yeah, I'm not familiar with their placement on a NISMO bumper. Maybe check around here on the forum for reference pics.

Question for all you other Iowa people - What mods is everyone running?
Now that I have my exhaust mods done, I'm trying to decided what (if anything) is next. Maybe a Stillen Gen 3 intake? |
I'm stock unfortunately. And probably going to be leaving the family :(

The State of Iowa?
After my exhaust, I did swift springs, spacers, and whiteline front and rear swaybars. Tossed on the rear fog light for fun, too.
I've also done the diff bushings, clutch, flywheel, and gauges to get ready for boost. Intake and a tune would also liven things up for you. Stillen or I was eyeballing the Takeda CAI too before deciding to take the car another route. |
Anyone know of any good shops around the Quad Cities area for installation of exhaust and other mods? I am in the Muscatine area but have had no luck finding any shops in the area. Not overly concerned about the installation on the FI exhaust but I plan on doing HFC's and CAI eventually with a tune so wanted to find someone fairly close to Muscatine.

Also, there's a Coney Island Cruise-In on Tuesday night in Des Moines, if anybody wants to join. All makes are welcome! |
I know there are plenty of people who tune in the area, but not a lot of experienced UpRev tuners.... Moncef Faik will do street tunes and seems pretty knowledgable on a variety of Nissan platforms. I'm not sure how much VQ tuning he has under his belt, you'd have to find him on Facebook and ask him about UpRev specifically. He's out of Cedar Rapids. I was planning on taking my car up to the twin cities once I go FI and there's no room for error on a tune.

Which kit are you going with, now that the GTM thing fell through? |
Heh, I figured I'd reach out to the MN Nissan Infiniti club when my kit came in (I had some names of shops a while back but would have to check what I wrote down two years ago, lol) but since your post I've been checking out ECUtek again, sounds like they're releasing what they promised two years ago with some neat features. if that's the case, you could probably just ETune with one of the vendors on this forum with that? But it's pretty much between those two software packages for our platform. GTM is still in contact with me on the kit from time to time, still trying to get my money back/kit or equivalent, pretty much all my plans have been on hold till I can get that resolved first. I'm glad you hit up the Coney Island night! I need to get down there.

Anyone on here participate in the NICI cruise this weekend?
