Agreed! I have the 25 row... and figured that any more than 25 would be counter-productive to street-driven vehicles. Case in point, i have blocked mine off for winter driving.

P.S. Happy Friday the 13th... ooooOOOOoooo

Yeah good choice. I honestly think even 19 would be ok for street driving/autoX/limited track use.

I got the 25 and thermostatic plate. Figured that would be good for anything I do with the car. I only drive it in the summer anyway, but I don't think you'd have to block it off if it's thermostatic.

If temps dip below 40 when you drive, then you may have to fab a block off plate. Otherwise, it will take a while for the oil temps to warm up to a safe temperature. During summer you shouldn't have issues.

It shouldn't even go through the cooler unless it gets hot enough first. What am I missing here?

The thermostat plate doesn't block flow completely. It closes about 80% so oil cooler is still cooling the oil.

I'm ready for summer. Normally I can put up with this crap until January, but not this year. If only the wife would agree to relocate :(

Maybe mine will give into my complaining.....probably not though.
