I plan to head up to BIR for proving grounds for September 5th-7th. The event on the 27th mayyyy be a good warmup for you to learn your launch capabilities for the following weekend :) When are the new tires on the way, or are they at your house waiting for you?

I need to order them. Step one is to spend today paying bills and seeing what the trip damage was! I have a bit of tread left on the stock tires and was thinking that 91 octane and streets would be a good learning platform since there will be a lot of tire spin. No sense burning through a set of Hankook R-S3's to start.

Anyone going to Brainerd on the 27th? I'm going to pop my drag strip cherry. Should be...entertaining.

Good luck!

I live there. If you see a PW Z driving around, it's me. Only Z around for 100 miles (except for the guy who bought my old one).

You should put the pearl on the strip!

350? 350? Nismo? Sport?

I hate people that do that. If i see another Z or G owner, i typically will give you a wave and cruise with you rather then try and hot rod/impress the other driver by being an idiot.

New Tires

Got some new Goodyear Assurance Comfort treads. It's a nice soft ride. Still corners fine. :tiphat:

NAV Upgrade..

Hey got notice of a NAV upgrade . - A recall by Nissan. I'm scheduled on 8/21 for my service. Those that have NAV should also check on this - just talk to your local Nissan dealer.

I'd relay my opinion of Nissan's navigation maps but I can't fart loud enough.

I'll never waste the $150 on Nissan maps when I can buy a better, more user-friendly navigation tool for $2 from the App Store and get real-time maps and traffic info.

Now...if that $150 map upgrade included a firmware update that would allow me to run CarPlay on my nav system, then I'd gladly shell out the money. Somehow, I don't think Nissan will be very enthusiastic about CarPlay, or at least about retrofitting it.

For anyone bored this Saturday, there are 4 of us dyno/tuning at DB Performance starting at 10am.

I personally will by tuning with the following:
-Fast Intentions Resonated HFCs
-Fast Intentions NONresonated SS catback
-Stillen Gen3's
-Stillen UD Pulley
-MD M370 intake manifold (still debating install)
-Nissan Motorsports 34row Oil Cooler
-Nismo rear wheels mounted**

Thanks Brian and David for hanging out Saturday. Was great seeing you both. Who could have thought a UD pulley install would be such a PITA?

Very happy with the day though. Car runs great, feels great, and still with the factory Nismo tune. I think it was made for the bolt-ons to be added ;)

Arrvaxx 08-18-2014 11:16 AM

Hey, had a great time hanging out. Might have felt differently if it was my car! What did it take...8 hours? Unreal. But yeah, that Nismo tune is pretty impressive. No idea why all our cars don't come with it.
