With my Black Cherry Z, I became a total Junkman convert for paint correction and management...check his videos here in the detailing forum, on YouTube, or look at the videos on Adams Polishes website. I recommend the Porter Cable 7424XP with Adams orange and white pads and polishes. Very cost effective and will maintain that Magnetic Black and really make it pop. I moved up to the Flex polisher...it doesn't do a better job, but it is much faster.

Foam guns, good microfiber towels (South Korean, not Chinese....check out The Rag Company) are fine for maintaining the finish, but if you can't correct a swirled finish or other paint marring, you'll never be able to do justice to that beautiful black car. I was resistant too, but Black Cherry is as hard to correct as black, and when the finish has swirls and micromarring, no amount of Walmart wax is going to give you a good depth of shine.

Here's my old Z...

Nice Z! yeah i watched all of junkmans videos thats why i became more careful with my 2nd black car. havent used one towel on it, but has few swirl marks from previous owner. When i said polisher should of been more clear, i meant the one you were talking bout and if i remember thats the one he uses? have no experience in polishing yet so gonna start on other black cars first before touching my beauty!

She's a beaut, Mac. Nice job on maintaining the shine.

That reminds me, I need to buy new MF towels for this year.

I highly recommend The Rag Company. Their prices on good quality South Korean microfiber towels are far lower than any of the detail places like Adams (for the same towels). I just picked some of their Eagle Pro Edgeless Blue 16x16 towels for $6 each. Top quality.

I have since exchanged that Z for a 2014 in Pearl White. Waiting patiently for the weather to moderate.

You will be surprised at how easy machine polishing is with that Porter Cable and at the truly excellent results. Virtually impossible to damage your finish with that machine.

Lol good to hear! Was scared of messing up the paint! I got my micro fiber towels and waffle towels through detailed image.

Even better! Love the white... ;)

I'm having a hard time waiting for the streets to get cleaner. Driving the new minivan is getting boring.

Alright, guys. I'm feeling it. This weather pattern has to break soon. Since I'm addicted to Z's, you guys have to help me out. I want to see if we can break a record this year and get a meet with as many Z's as possible. All generations. Let's get the word out.

Date: May 31st

I'm working on details of the meet and greet. Seems like a lot of new faces are on the boards, so we should do a meet and greet. Because this may turn out to be larger than anyone can imagine, I'm going to come up with points of interest and route options so we can drive and catch up.

Stay tuned...
