The car is already sold. But yes, I'm looking to either get a house or move to San Fran to chase after the IT gold rush :D.

I think I grew an inch today from that yellow thing in the sky.

SF, eh? I used to live near there. Would love to go back and visit.

Dave you lived in SF??? I definitely have some questions to bounce off you guys about Cali then when I see you next!!!

SmoothZ 06-11-2013 04:16 PM

I was about 7 when I first moved there, then we moved out to Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. Both my parents worked in Silicon Valley for defense contract companies.

I spent part of my adult life in SoCal. I lived in El Centro and then San Diego.

Hmm... good to know! May have to get some serious insight from you when I see you next. Looks like I'll be heading out there in 2 weeks for a full week for a "trial period".... :-\

No doubt man, I'm kind of freaking out. Its a HUGE decision. I'd love to get your insight on it. You obviously live here now, have your kids and wife.

Being 27...I think about the future, where I'd like to raise my future children, what lifestyle I'd like to live.

I like the midwest, and if I'm going to move to Cali...right now is definitely the time to do it rather then trying it later..... This is a very VERY tough decision....

ScottmanZ 06-12-2013 01:24 PM

My wife is from SoCal and my son is currently stationed in San Diego. It's a nice place to visit...not sure I'd want to live there though.

Scott I don't know if I've ever met your wife before? If she makes out to a BBQ or something, I'd love to get some insight from her about her experiences out there, and if she'd "ever wnat to move back" vs living here?

The more and more I think about it, I love the midwest. I love the seasons. As much as I hate snow....I love it. I really don't see myself being "high class" and being able to keep up with the cost of living out there?

SmoothZ 06-14-2013 08:05 AM

San Diego or SoCal is awesome because there is no snow. I prefer no seasons. Allergies are terrible for me here. Cost of living is almost the same when it comes to taxes, but it's definitely more expensive to live out there. You just can't get the same house out there as you do here.

I grew up in the Silicon Valley area, then moved to New Mexico in middle school. It's like night and day when it came to schools. I don't know if I'd want to raise my kids there now, but they're older.

What's everyone up to this weekend??? Anyone up for some last second cruising?!?!?! I know its Father's day on Saturday...but not sure if anyone would want to get together this weekend?

I would definitely be down, but I'm in Iowa learning how to do my job better.

Well I'm a gymnastics coach. So it's not awful. It's kind of a meat market here with all of the female coaches
