Got a thumbs up from a 2013 gun metal Z across 100 on my way home from work today. :tup:

Saw a silver NISMO heading into the Giant parking lot on the corner of 228 and 210 I believe it was Tuesday afternoon around 5pm. Almost pulled into to say hi. First NISMO I have seen in these parts if I'm not mistaken.

Waved to a 2010 gunmetal base headed the opposite direction from me. Dunno if they waved back.

Also had a kid in a lowered 350z with his seat leaned waaaay back so I could only see his eyes over the door slow down to give the car a once over. I waved and he sped off o_O

I love it when people in other ricer cars do the "one overs" haha...

dmhenderson 04-11-2013 09:24 PM

He looked suspicious but that was probably because I could only see the top of his head and his eyes.

Also I don't think my car is a "ricer" car but maybe that's just me.

Sounds like the replies I get back from when I wave at people.

Ricer cars (in my opinion) are cars turned into racecars that shouldn't be.

Dropped honda accords with groundFX neons, wheels spaced out past the fenders, fartcan exhausts, highwings and those noisemakers that make the fake "turbo whoosh" under the hood. That sort of thing.

You could make a Z a ricer I supposed but you'd need a really outlandish body kit etc. Asian tuned car does not = ricer in my opinion.

I was going to post some examples but didn't want to offend anyone so just go to google, click on "images" and search for "ricer". You'll see what I mean. Personally, I think it's a derogatory/borderline offensive descriptor but that's just me..

rice - race inspired cosmetic enhancements

so performance mods not rice
a wing you could serve thanksgiving dinner on for 10, rice

dmhenderson 04-12-2013 12:07 PM

mind = blown.

I had no idea it was an acronym o_O
