Fellow Z owners: A call for help.

Hello all for those of you in the MD-baltimore area I'm asking if anyone has some spare tires(donuts) they can loan me for the time being, I will get them back to you.

The reason for this is that yesterday morning someone stole all four wheels off my Z, leaving it on stands, heartbreaking. Now I am in a predicament of getting it towed, towing a car like the Z with no wheels will always result in some type of further damage. If anyone has anything I truly appreciate it. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your wheels! I'm a little far south to help, but I hope that someone up near you could help you. Good luck getting it towed and the wheels replaced.

Just another note, you may want to put some description and/or pictures if you had unique wheels in case we see them for sale. The more eyes looking for them the better.

Once I get my wheels, I can bring you the old wheels to use, but I don't know your time frame.

duuude, that sucks.. fvck those pieces of sh1t for doing that to you man.

I just sold my spare )=

But for you this will be a win. Insurance usually pays out 6-7k for stock wheels replacements....so you can buy brand new high end wheels and nice new tires and have cash left over.

Yeah, if they pay replacement cost for OEM goodies, you should get a sizeable check.

Any of them that will give you a check for the replacement factory costs.

I think its breaks down like this
Sport Wheels- $ 3.5-4k
TPMS sensors- $ 800
OEM Tires- $ 1400
Mounting, balancing, misc labor $200

That is all rough estimates so give or take a few hundred.

Chuck33079 09-27-2013 09:28 AM

And anyone who takes that check and buys OEM stuff at OEM prices needs their head examined.

Damn straight. I secretly want mine to disappear just because I could get a nice set of wedsports or volks and some new AD08s and still have money left over for other crap.

Fellow Z owners: A call for help.

I'm trying to just get it out of here asap. Using correct jack points is the last thing a thief worries about. Having said that, the one side of my Z is tilted on one side and laying directly on the fallen jack stand and spare tire they used. The funny thing is, a guy with an s2000 parked a few spots away has those BBS two piece mesh design, like $1000 a wheel type deal.

But yeah looking for new wheels any suggestions? Looking to spend around $2000?

Tigger 09-27-2013 10:45 AM

Not trying to speculate but if the BBS wheels were left alone I'd be wondering if it was him or his buddies.

Back to the topic. I would highly advise against putting on four spares. They aren't rated for that kind of use and stability at an speed would be scary. Even if it were for a 15 minute drive. I'd grab some cash, find the wheels you want, have tires mounted and balanced and grab a guy with a truck to take them to your car and get them on asap.

Good luck man. My best.

Have to agree here. Unless you are putting them on just to get the car off of the stands and onto a roll back.

Also if the thief would go for BBS's over premium rays...hes an idiot.

My opinion would be to get it on proper jacks and make sure it is safe and then call the insurance company and get to ordering some goodies.

I read the first post like he needed 4 spares just to get the car up on a tow truck (flatbed, I hope) to get it to the shop to make sure nothing else got dicked up.
