Its a Jeep Patriot... but if you really want to dig into the automotive complex, it has a hyundai/mitsu/chrysler sourced engine, and rides on a mitsu chassis... sooo yeah domestic? sure... :icon17:

We plan on running the sucker into the ground anyway...

I honestly had no clue WTF it was until I looked it up.

StangerGT 04-17-2013 09:46 PM

Captiva? yeah it was the Vue... GM just crapped it out for rental fleets...

Yeah I had an eclipse not too long ago, it was modded to hell, I thought it was straight Japanese, come to find out, it was made by Chrysler and Mitsubishi..

Never seen one before. However, it's closer to the Equinox.

A car that actually WAS a true "JDM" vehicle.

Not what people THINK JDM means...

The automotive complex is rather redicamous...

Example:
The Viper has a old Lambo sources v10 motor, the model is owned by Chrysler, which is owned by Fiat... Fiat also owns Ferrari, who then helped SRT tune the Viper per Fiat direction... Thus Ferrari tuned an old Lambo engine...

:icon14: i kno...

Dont get me started on the complexities of the auto industry...

This is old, but...still good.

StangerGT 04-17-2013 09:56 PM

When people tell me they dont like company A due to reliability issues... my head usually explodes, as the parts suppliers are so interconnected... almost all manufacturers share platforms, engines, components with rivals... in Vdubs case... chrysler just MAKES their minivans. they also made a Dakota clone for mitsu

StangerGT 04-17-2013 09:59 PM

Bingo... i remember that...

Its nuts, and its why that massive automotive bailout was needed... the Detroit 3 were large enough to take down most of the worlds parts suppliers... which would bring down the rest of the worlds manufacturing base. Ford actually bailed out many of their own suppliers without gov help. they floated their debt.

eastwest2300 04-18-2013 09:17 AM

Pretty sweet map, I've never seen that before.

eastwest2300 04-19-2013 10:18 AM

This sunday fellas!!!! Bring your azz!

MightyBobo 04-20-2013 11:21 PM

Oops, forgot to remind people: StangerGT will have his portable grill at the meet. If you want some foodstuffs cooked, bring it.

e.O, good to meet you today and glad you could join us!

ZCarMan 04-21-2013 01:52 PM

Here are some photos from today's College Park Meet. It was a bit chilly but not too bad. Met some new folks and enjoyed a nice meet. I didn't see nearly as many cars out for this meet as last year but still lots of nice cars overall. MAZOC had a good turnout and next year we'll need to remember to bring the MAZOC Banner to hang from the awning. Good to see everyone who made it and it was good to meet those of you who joined for the first time.

Oh and Shahid stayed awake the whole time!
