Any of you guys have experience with motorized front license plate mounting brackets?

Got pulled over for no front plate today for the first time and although I suspect that the cop just wanted to play with the car (he was out of uniform), it has been a source of anxiety so I'd rather just be compliant.

Asked this in the interior/exterior forum as well but would rather hear it from you guys if someone has first-hand knowledge.

This thing looks pretty neat but I don't know if it gives me enough clearance with the nismo front lip:

SNDTGR08 has one - he flipped it during a traffic stop and got a ticket for some other trumped up reason...

I'd suggest the one that goes into the tow hook if you want a "quick release" option. Those motorized ones, if you bottom out or the motor hits the ground, and it goes out, you're kind of SOL

Another Richard Cranium as a cop.

Yeah did some reading on the motorized ones and there were a lot of "this piece of crap broke within 2 weeks of installation" and seeing as I don't need another thing on the car that could break, I'm going to go with the slide-out, non-motorized flavor.

I can't use the tow-hook flavor because my running lights are in the way.

Is Show and Go the only fold-out option? The reviews on Amazon are less than favorable...

Boost Lee has had his since 2010 with no issues

Ok I'll run with the non-motorized flavor then.

The story http://www.the370z.com/mid-atlantic-...s-exhaust.html

worth a read, some good laughs in there.

Yeah the tl;dr of that story was that a guy decided to **** with a cop and the cop decided to **** with him right back. I don't feel bad for that dude at all.

I agree with you completely. The amazing thing is he does eventually win, but not without a lot of time and headaches for sure.
